"So you're sure you feel up to it Spinel," Steven asked the pink gem at the foot of the warp pad.

"Of course..." Spinel said convincingly.

Steven, Spinel and Connie are getting ready to go to Homeworld. Part 1 of their plan was to infiltrate Homeworld, and possibly get reinforcements... and, hopefully, get Pink Pearl back. They stepped onto the warp, Steven activated it once everyone was on. He had no worry of seeing the Diamonds. Thanks to... Spinel's poor encounters... he knew the Diamonds would be nowhere near the throne room at the moment. They stepped off the warp, the light fading behind them.

"Ok... where should we start Spinel," Steven asked.

Connie and Steven turned to the pink gem quizzically. Spinel glanced at both, taken by surprise at his query. "Uh... maybe... we should just look around."

"Oh... ok."

They started walking off the pad, making their way, sneakily, out of the temple. They walked out to the town square. They were in awe at how peaceful it seemed... well, everyone besides Spinel. Spinel held her arms tightly, making sure she was ok. She would glance to her friends every now and then, to make sure they were still by her side. Some gems started to recognize the boy who saved the universe. Slight whispers started to erupt from the crowds. The trio could see them starting to stare.

"Probably wasn't smart to use the main road," Connie whispered.

Spinel quietly hid behind the two earthlings. She whimpered slightly, not liking being noticed this early. Were they talking about her? Did they not like her? Of course they didn't like! White probably announced a death wish for her gem!

"St-Steven... we need to leave," Spinel whimpered.

"No. We can't leave yet... but we should move to a new position... we're too noticeable," Steven told them.

They snuck their way near an alley way... well, 'snuck' isn't exactly what they did. Spinel's squeaky shoes sort of gave them away. As they passed by multiple groups of gems, Spinel bumped shoulders with one.

"Oh! Sorry about that," she said as she scurried off into the narrow alley.

The annoyed gem turned her head to glare at the pink gem... but her eyes widened when she saw the half human, half gem boy in the alley. The gem pulled out a communicator and contacted her 'higher up'. The screen flowed to life, as it finally connected to the other line. A blue gem appeared on the screen, typing away on a device.

"What do you want Lazuli," Aquamarine scoffed.

"Oh, you'll enjoy this!"

Aquamarine raised a brow, looking up from her tablet. "I'm listening," she said.

"You'll never believe who bumped into me," the Lapis laughed.

"You want us to do what now," Yellow Pearl questioned.

Steven had just told Yellow, and Blue Pearl about his plan. They were clearly worried, and scared.

"All you have to do is keep in touch with us. That way we can take care of the rebellion first. Than, the Diamonds plans will be stopped. With you guys on our side, we'll always be one step ahead."

The two Pearl's thought for a moment, before nodding in agreement.

"Ok, we'll do it," Yellow Pearl agreed.

Yellow Pearl took a communicator, Blue Pearl doing the same. The trio smiled at their new inside spies. Just as they were about to leave, Spinel kept them behind, wanting to ask the two Pearl's something.

"H-Hey... if you find P-Pink Pearl..." she paused, gulping slightly. "Please... tell me! I need to bring her back!"

Spinel was now grabbing Blue Pearl's arms tightly, digging into her skin. Tears pricked at her eyes, thoughts of doubt for Pink Pearl invading her mind. Blue Pearl nicely took Spinel's hands off herself, holding her hands in a comforting manner.

"Don't worry, we will," she said comfortingly.

"Yeah, if we don't get abducted like h-"

Yellow coughed, Blue nudging her slightly with her elbow. Spinel's eyes grew more glossy, but she wiped the tears away before they fell.

"Th-Thank you..."

The two Pearls waved goodbye to the trio as they walked out of the building. They were walking back to the temple, making sure not to use any main roads this time. Steven and Connie could see the concern in Spinel's eyes, both feeling bad for her.

"You should talk to her," Connie told Steven.

Steven nodded, and moved closer to Spinel. She flinched at his closeness, but became happy with his company.

"So... you're worried about her," he asked.

"H-How could I not be... I was the reason she was... why she-"

Spinel broke into sobs, falling to her knees. Connie and Steven to her side, comforting the gem.

"Hey, hey, it's ok! From what Steven told me, she chose to get controlled again," Connie told her. "I think she really cares about you... why else would she have done what she did."

Al slight blush appeared on Spinel's face. She wiped away some more tears, looking up at her friends. "You think so," she asked with a small smile of hope.

"I'd think so," Connie said.

"Yeah, me too," Steven agreed.

"Maybe... Maybe you're right." Spinel took Steven's hand, helping her stand. She smiled sheepishly, trying to hide her uncontainable happiness.

They continued their walk back to the temple. No one guarded the front entrance, so they easily snuck inside. They made their way to the throne room, after sneaking their way through halls. As they drew nearer to the throne room, they could hear distant chattering. Some voices almost sounded familiar. Once outside of the room, they could see that the door... was cracked open?! Steven turned to his friends, putting a finger over his mouth. They nodded their heads at the boy, preparing to enter the room and face the Diamonds if need be... well, Spinel was scared of course. Steven opened the door slowly, and everyone of them gasped.

"Hello, Steven!"
