"Let me go!"

I rolled my eyes in irritation at the sound of Caroline's cries from the basement below us that seemed to never end.

Nora huffed from her chair, only a few feet away from me, "How long are we going to hold her prisoner? Her whining is giving me a headache."

I shrugged, playing with my fingernails until I answered, "Until I say so." I said simply.

"You mean until Lily says so?" Mary-Louis corrected with a raised eyebrow.

I turned to her, my eyes darkening as I glared at her, "No." I corrected seriously making her face soften in the slightest as a response, "Until I say so."

Mary-Louis glanced towards Nora who merely kept quiet- not wanting to get on my bad side.

I stood up slowly, looking over the two of them before speaking, "Lily chooses to do nothing as our family is picked off one by one. She chooses to respect this clearly failing peace treaty while Damon proceeds to threaten us- and I will not allow it." I explained, "Lily is hiding something. I can feel it. And I'm going to find out what it is- meanwhile, Caroline dearest is going to give me the answers I desire."

I began to make my way down to the basement before I was stopped by the voice of Nora, "And if she doesn't?"

I paused, thinking momentarily before turning around slowly, "I'll kill her."

I continued my path down to the basement without another word, hearing Caroline's faint voice speak quietly as I inched closer to her capture.

It was then that I realized she was on the phone with someone.

"Nayeli's only keeping you there to turn me against Damon." I recognized the voice of Stefan instantly, speeding into the basement and grabbing the phone from Caroline's hands.

I placed it against my ear before speaking into it, "And that's exactly what you're going to do."

There was a momentary pause before he spoke, "Nayeli?"

"You guessed it." I spoke with a dry humor as Caroline listened intensely, "Where is he, Stefan?"

"Damon and I aren't speaking right now." Stefan replied with a lie that I detected immediately, "No idea where he is."

I clenched my jaw in frustration before glancing over to Caroline. I lifted my hand, focusing on her existence, listening to the sound of her beating heart before I began to close my hand slowly. Caroline let out a strangled gasp, losing her breath as she grabbed her chest, struggling to breathe.

"Caroline?" Stefan called out, hearing her gasps, "What's going on?"

"In about ten seconds I am going to lose my patience and Caroline her heart. So I ask you again, Stefan, where is Damon?"

"Listen, Nayeli, I don't know but I can find him. I just need some time." Stefan negotiated in worry on the other line.

I thought for a moment, watching Caroline inch closer to her death before I answered, "You have less than 24 hours. Then Caroline dies." I informed before hanging up and releasing my hand.

Caroline gasped for air, finally catching her breath as she began to cough.

The sound of my telephone's ringing erupted the tension in the air. I flashed Caroline a quick smile before answering, "What?"

"Is that any way to greet a friend?" Enzo spoke from the other line causing me to roll my eyes as I exited the basement, "Especially one with such vital news?"
