We all know about Medusa. She's so hideous that when you look at her you turn to stone. But some people don't know how she became so hideous, and that's what I'm gonna talk to you about today! Oh and this is not the original myth! She was born a gorgon in one myth but in this myth she wasn't.
Okay, so Medusa was once a beautiful women that was a priestess at Athena's temple. And do you know what happens to beautiful women in greek mythology? Well they get knocked up by the Gods and if you didn't know that then I don't know. But because she is a priestess for Athena she cannot get married or have any children. So then for some reason Poseidon, the god of the sea and other stuff, sees her and says "Frick you Athena! I'm gonna screw your priestess anyway!" And then he goes on to ummm.... do the unspeakable to Medusa inside of Athena's temple! I mean come on! She just wanted to work for Athena! Then after Poseidon raped Medusa Athena came and said " You broke the rules and it's completely your fault. So now I'm gonna turn you into a monster bye. Oh, and your fired." Now Medusa has to bare a curse she didn't even ask for. Thanks a lot Poseidon. But then Perseus comes by and kills her. I'll talk about him next chapter. Also there are multiple versions to this myth, some say Athena changed Medusa out of pity so then no man could ever touch her again. But either way, getting turned into a hideous monster sucks.
The end to a very short story.
