Eros and Psyche

Let's talk about love! Hahaha...
Anyways, let's talk about Eros and Psyche. But first I need to tell the people who don't know who Eros is.

     Eros is the god of love. Some people say he's the son of Aphrodite or Chaos but for this myth he's the son of Aphrodite. He's kind of like Cupid but not really, he just has like the same weapon which is a bow and love arrows. And he has big wings.

     So Psyche, she is a beautiful princess!( Hi Disney.) But she's also a princess with a problem! (Disney go away for just one second please.) Because Psyche is so pretty people worship her as a goddess but she can't fall in love and no one wants to fall in love with her. This brings up two problems, first of all Aphrodite is no longer being worshiped as much now so she's a bit mad. And second of all her parents are worried about their daughter now because she can't marry anybody so now they have a lot of anxiety and stress. So now Aphrodite called up her son Eros and was like, "Hey, go make this girl named Psyche fall in love with a monster." Then Eros goes over to Psyche to make her fall in love with a monster but was surprised when he saw how beautiful Psyche was and stabbed himself with his own arrow. Now he's really in love with Psyche. Great.....                                                                                                                                   So now lets go get a look at what Psyche's parent's are doing. Okay so they go see this oracle named Delphi and ask her if Psyche is ever gonna fall in love and the oracle replies with " She'll fall in love but she's gonna fall in love with a winged serpent who is terrible and even more powerful that than the Gods. Also She's gonna meet him at the summit of a mountain so just drop her off there." Some versions of the myth say that Aphrodite made the oracle say that or Apollo, the God of prophecy, the person that gave the oracles their gift of telling prophecy's just made the oracle say that. I want to believe that Aphrodite made her say that because she thought the Eros did his job. But you can choose. Okay so now Psyche's parents are very sad now because they were literally just told to abandon their daughter on some mountain.                                                              Now when they got home they told Psyche to come with them somewhere and then they lead her to the mountain top and just leave her there. So now Psyche is crying on the mountain top waiting for her monster husband. But her monster husband isn't even the one who picks her up. It's Zephyr, the west wind. He takes Psyche to this rocky hill with a meadow full of flowers that also has a nice place for her to stay. So now she's inside of the house? Palace? Whatever. But in there she meets her husband. He's invisible! Does she mind? No. He just tells her that  she can never see him and that she has everything she needs in the house because invisible servants will get her everything. Psyche was just like cool and lived there for awhile without any problems.                                                          Well that is until her two sisters.( She does have sisters I forgot to tell you that, sorry.)  Come to visit her. The thing that is about to happen is probably gonna be Psyche's fault because she really wanted to see her family and asked her invisible husband if she could see them. Of course he said yes, it wasn't like he was some sort of over protective psychopath that didn't allow her to do anything like those weird anime boys that obsess over a girl a bit to much and look them up for the rest of their lives. So now her two sister's are at the palace with Psyche and are happy to see her until they see that she is living like an actual goddess. They get super jealous and they come up with a plan to make Psyche lose everything. They tell Psyche that she should look at her husband when he is sleeping because apparently he's not invisible when he's sleeping and she should see if he is a monster or not and if he is she should kill him before he kills her. So that night Psyche sneaks into Eros's room with a candle and a knife or dagger. She walks up to his bed and is surprised. It turns out that her husband was Eros! The God of love himself. But things always have to go wrong because when Psyche was surprised some of the hot candle wax got on Eros and woke him up because it's hot candle wax! Then he runs away because of betrayal and "Holy Gods the burn hurts like Tartaurs!" and then fly's to his mom Aphrodite. Psyche is now really sad because she just lost her husband. But she decided that she was gonna get him back and went to Aphrodite to ask for forgiveness. Aphrodite being the "great" mother she is was gonna get revenge. She wasn't really mad about her being pretty and stuff now because she just wanted revenge for her son. So she gives Psyche some challenges that she has to complete and if she fails one she will never have Eros again. Psyche being really desperate at this point said yes and got her first challenge. The challenge was that she had to sort a bunch of seeds before afternoon. No mortal could do that so Psyche was pretty much screwed except for the fact that she was an actual Disney princess and a group of ants saw her felt bad for her and than sort them all for her. Then Aphrodite comes back to check on her to see if she failed yet and got really mad when she saw that she completed the challenge. Because she wasn't expecting this she had to come up with another challenge but she couldn't think of anything so she just made Psyche sleep on the floor and starve. The next morning she came up with an idea and told her to get some water from a really dangerous river. Psyche goes down there and than realized that she would probably die because of the fast flowing water and the slippery rock. But because she is a Disney princess a eagle sees her and get's the water for her. Aphrodite now being one hundred and ten percent done with Psyche tells her that she cheated because she got help and had to go to hell for her last challenge. Well like going to hell was another challenge because she had to take a box down there for Persephone,  the queen of the underworld and the Goddess of the spring, to ask her for some of her beauty. After getting down to the underworld and getting some of Persephone's beauty after asking her she starts making her way back to Aphrodite's palace. But than she thinks if the box was full of beauty she could use it to make her self look a bit better because she was about to see her husband again.  Then she opens up the box and dies. But Eros is done being a little kid now and got out of  his mom's castle to save Psyche. He makes her come back to life and then they get properly married on Olympus after Zeus told Aphrodite to back off.
