George and I briskly began walking back to his house in Upton Green as the bleak winter weather nipped at our cheeks.
I shivered into my coat as we picked up the pace, the heels of my shoes tapping rapidly again the cobbled roads, echoing down the dark, desolate streets of Liverpool.
Suddenly I felt some extra warm making me look up from my trance which was fixated ahead of me.
I looked up, jumping slightly as George placed his jacket around my shivering shoulders.
"Oh George no you'll freeze" I manage to get out with my shaky breath due to the cold,
"Looks like you're already half way to becoming a snowman" his warm breath clashed with the cold air as his voice danced around in the sky.
"Honestly I'm fine you need it more than I do" he shrugged lighting a cigarette to warm himself up due to losing his jacket to me, I couldn't help but feel bad but his jacket carried his aroma and I couldn't deny that it made me giddy.
I hummed happily as I engulfed myself in all my layers. I glanced up at George who was already looking at me grinning.
"What?" I muffled due to all the layers
He just looked away and laughed to himself rubbing the back of his neck.

"Your parents won't mind will they? With me staying the night I mean?" I asked breaking the silence between us, genuinely concerned as to what George's parents would think of their son bringing home a random girl.
"Oh no they won't mind at all" George replied smiling down at me.
"My mum especially would like to know you were safe" he added nudging me slightly making me giggle.
"Are you sure? I can go home and explain to my mum that-"
"Amelia....relax, it's genuinely okay" George chuckled stopping me in my tracks, holding both of my shoulders as he looked deeply and longingly in my eyes, causing my breathing to hitch slightly.
"Come on, it's just round the corner" he spoke softly, releasing my shoulders awkwardly, breaking the glorious eye contact we'd just held.
I followed him around the corner into a small cul-de-sac, there was a tree in the middle of the road that all the houses circled around. The street was completely black, apart from the small glimmers on the windows that the full moon caused.
"This is the one" he said opening the small picket gate in front of us.
We made our short way up to the front door before he turned to me putting a finger up to his lips indicating that his family will probably be sleeping.
"My family will probably be asleep, so we can get you upstairs and settled in Louise's room and in the morning I'll explain to-" he began whispering before the front door swung open.
"George Harrison what time do you call this?" A worried looking woman half whispered half yelled as she threw her hands on her hips waiting for an explanation.
"Mum I-"
"The band finished performing 3 hours ago!" She whined obviously relieved that her son was safely home,
"You scared the life out of me Georgie." She said swinging her arms behind her sons back embracing him.
"I'm sorry mum but look at me....I'm fine see" he said smiling goofily at her, tilting his head showing that he was unharmed.
"George you're frozen stiff" she complained as she walked back into the house, George following sheepishly behind her and reached his hand behind him implying for me to follow him through the dimly lit doorway.
"Well I gave Amelia my coat because she was so co-" George started gesturing back at me as he closed the door behind us.
"Oh my goodness dear I'm so sorry I completely missed you there" George's mother half shrieked when she realised she hadn't introduced herself to me, I put my hand up waving warily at the sweet lady as she engulfed me in a hug.
"Oh my dear are you okay?" She asked concerned looking between me and George for an answer as to who I was.
"Oh I'm fine Mrs Harrison honestly, George was kind enough to offer me a place to stay tonight" I smiled awkwardly, hoping I wasn't stepping over any boundaries.
"Oh please sweetie call me Louise, and of course make yourself at home, we have a spare room upstairs that was my daughters, I think she left some of her pyjamas too for when she visits" she spoke reminiscing about her daughter who now lived in America.
"You're incredibly kind thank you so much" I grinned as Louise brought me in for another hug before leading me up the stairs, quietly as so not to wake George's brothers and father.

"Do you want me to get you anything love? A hot water bottle? A cup of tea?" Louise asked referring to how cold the house had gotten, I'd slipped my way into George's sisters silk pyjamas that seemed to fit perfectly and got myself into the comfortable single bed.
"Oh no honestly Mrs Harrison a bed for the night is plenty enough." I smiled politely as I pulled the covers up towards my chin.
"You're welcome anytime my dear, any friends of George's are a friends of ours" she smiled and turned on her heel as George appeared behind her.
"Mum can I?" He started standing timidly behind his mother as she turned back to me.
"I'll see you in the morning dear" she spoke turning again and giving George a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Night mum" he spoke quietly as she walked to her room.
"Everything all alright for you love?" He asked timidly leaning against the doorframe in his striped pyjamas, making him look so unbelievably adorable.
"Oh everything is perfect, thank you so much for doing this for me George" I smiled as he made his way over to me to sit on the end of the bed.
"Amelia you need to stop saying thank you" George chuckled softly shaking his head.
"I know but it really means a lot to me, no one has been this kind to me since we've moved here" I spoke looking down at my hands, not wanting the think about everyone else I'd met at college.
"I've never done anything like tonight before, I've never really been invited out before" I added looking back up at George who seemed slightly upset by my words.
".....well what did you think?" George spoke up after thinking for a bit of how to respond.
"I loved it! It was so exciting" I said giggling again remembering all the events that unfolded tonight making George smile brightly.
"Are you going to be alright if I head off to bed now?" George asked to my surprise.
"George you don't have to ask to go to bed in your own house!" I laughed in disbelief.
"No I know but you're our guest and I want to make sure you're alright." he whispered shrugging.
"George I'll be absolutely fine." I assured him as he stood up from the bed, he smiled at me as he began walking towards the door.
"George" I spoke up just as he reached the door,
"Hmm?" He hummed back turning to look back at me,
"Thank you" I smiled.
"You're welcome, goodnight Amelia, sleep well" he spoke sweetly bringing the door to,
"Goodnight George"
