I began walking to the park with an extra skip in my step, happy in the knowledge that my mother was welcoming to the idea of George, I know she would still have her concerns but she knew my judgement could be trusted and that's all I wanted to hear.
I briskly made my way to the park where we shared our first night together watching the stars, the place I started falling for him. I was practically running now as my body filled with adrenaline at the thought of seeing him again.
I slowed my pace to a brisk walk once I started nearing the park in order to catch my breath and sort myself out before he saw me. I turned the corner and gasped at the sight of him, stood there smoking outside the gate to the park, holding his guitar case in his other hand. He was looking around in search for me. If I wasn't already falling in love with this boy, now would be the time that I was starting to.
I walked up to him timidly, his eyes clocked mine and that gorgeous grin of his made it's way onto his face. He quickly put out his cigarette against the brick wall that was enclosing the park before jogging over to me, giving me a quick peck on the lips on arrival.
"Hello sunshine!" He beamed brightly making me swoon at my new nickname.
"You look beautiful." he added looking me up and down, making me blush an even deeper shade of rouge."Your mother let you out then?" He smiled down at me as I pulled myself out of the trance that "sunshine" had put me in.
"Oh -yeah she was great! She's really supportive of us you know." I couldn't contain my happiness as George slipped his hand into mine and we walked into the park, I wish I could say the sun was shining but it's November time in England...."That's great news!" He spoke happily as we continued strolling around, finally stopping underneath a shady tree near the bandstand.
"Shall we sit here a bit?" He asks gesturing up at the large oak tree and I nod contently. He helps me down as we sat in a nice grassy patch before he set his guitar case down next to him.I lean my head around him to look at his guitar case before moving back to look at George curiously. He smiled at me whilst furrowing his eyebrows in confusion making me giggle slightly.
"Now what is it with you and laughing at me?" He chuckled before pretending to have a sulk on with me.
"Oh George I was only wondering why you brought your guitar along with you." I giggle nudging him slightly as he dropped his pout and swapping it for a cheeky grin, he reached over to his case and pulled out his acoustic guitar."Oh George it's marvellous!" I gasp leaning over him to get a closer look, stroking the guitar strings delicately as he placed his free hand on my back.
"Would you like a go?" He asks making my face drop. I'd never played a guitar in my life and I wasn't about to let George hear me attempt to play now. I quickly shook my head and sat back on the grass. He chuckled and pulled it into his lap picking at the strings absentmindedly.
"Oh no I can't play." I say shaking my head as he grins at me whilst he plays a not so lovely tune.
"Neither can I!" He jokes as he keeps hitting horrible chords making me laugh.
"You even play well when you're trying to be bad." I whine as he pulled a goofy face at me all while continuing to "play badly".
