George POV:
Amelia and I started walking our way to the village park where the fete was being held, and the place we went the first night we met. Her hand was still firmly place in mine, squeezing it softly every now and then, making my heart skip a beat.
"I hope it doesn't rain." Amelia murmured looking up at the darkening sky, wrapping her arms around her torso, releasing my hand in the process.
I instinctively wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to me, feeling briefly saddened at the loss of contact with her.You need to tell her!
My mind kept screaming at me, it was forcing me into a headache. I want to tell her but I don't know how and I know I'll never forgive myself if I make her uncomfortable.
"Are you alright?" She said looking up at me with concern filling her eyes.
"You seem a little distracted." She explained stopping suddenly to allow me to explain myself.
"Oh I'm fine don't worry I'm just uh...." I thought for a second of something to say, pulling myself away to rub my now pounding temples.
"I'm just thinking about that song I'm working on, yeah uh I just really don't know what to do with it." I sighed, fooling her into believing me, I'm not proud of it but she can't know how I feel just yet.
"Oh okay, maybe you can show me later and we can see if I can help?" She suggested bowing her head slightly.
"I mean I know my input won't be great or anything because I'm not a musician but-"
"I'd love that!" I smiled widely at her thinking that it would be the perfect opportunity.
We began walking again in a comfortable silence with her under my arm, getting closer to the park, the sun drifting the clouds."Awww no come back sun." Amelia whined slightly.
"If it starts to rain we can head back somewhere for shelter?" I suggested referring back her previous comment to which she simply nodded.
"I've never been to a village fete, mainly because I've never lived in a village, what're they like?" Amelia smiled up at me sweetly."They're great fun! There's always a live band playing, there's games and food stalls and at this one there's going to be a big wheel!" I enthused back to her. She grinned wider at me as I described it.
"Oooh I'm excited now!" She squealed excitedly putting her arm around my back as we continued walking. The energy of her touch surging through me like a tidal wave. I've never felt like this before.Eventually we got to the park where the fete was already in full swing. There were more rides than I thought there would be, there were plenty of games such as ring toss, hook a duck, bowls and tin cans to knock down. There were plenty of food stalls to my utter joy as I was already practically drooling. I looked down at Amelia who was still nestled under my arm comfortably, the look on her face was magical, she was enthralled by it all.
"What do you think?" I partially shouted over the sound of the full brass band that were playing up on the stage next to us.
She beamed up at me and hugged me tightly.
"It's brilliant! Thank you so much for bringing me!" She replied ecstatic. We walked around the fete for a bit, browsing the stalls and, as promised, I bought her her candy floss to which in return she bought me some shortbread biscuits which I happily munched on throughout the day.
