Amelia's POV:
Liverpool, 10th December 1961 - 20 days later.

It had been just over 2 weeks since mine and George's date, well I should say my date with The Beatles. The days we're getting darker and colder here in England as the Christmas period approached but mine and George's relationship was getting very much the opposite.

We've been going out properly for 3 weeks now and things couldn't be better, though I wasn't officially his girlfriend yet. We'd see each other most days and go dancing most nights. The Beatles were still performing in the cavern club every other night and at the casbah every night in between and of course I would always go to show my support.

Not only had me and George got closer over the last couple of weeks but I'd made great friends with the rest of the lads. John was already treating me like a little sister and being very protective of me, even after his little prank the other week. Paul was a sweetheart as always, he was a good mate of mine now as was Ringo who was spending a lot more time with us all. Pete was a little quieter now, it seemed he felt a little left out the more Ringo hung around.

Even Dot and Paul had made up, they'd agreed as a couple that calling off the wedding would suit them both but they decided to stay together. They were still absolutely smitten by each other and I couldn't be happier.

Today, George and I had planned a day for just us two, a day without the rest of the lads. I was going around to his house all day and I suppose we would just see where the day took us, but George was adamant that it would be just us two.

I rolled out of bed at 7:45 to the sound of Mandy's light snores in the bed next to me. I pattered my way over to the window beside Mandy's bed and opened the curtain, revealing a light, frosty morning, the cold air from the window instantly flying freely around the room after being released from its cotton prison. I ran for my dressing gown that I'd previously strewn over the back of the desk chair, to protect myself from the cold, before darting downstairs.

I was met downstairs in the kitchen by my mother making a cup of tea, the radio was playing quietly in the corner of the room. She must've been up for a while already as her hair was neatly brushed and she was dressed ready for the day. She also must've heard me frolicking down the stair as I noticed her reach up into the cupboard above her for a second mug.

"Morning sweetheart, did you sleep well?" She asked sweetly filling the mugs up with hot water before adding the milk. She didn't break her concentration as I swooped beside her giving her a kiss on the cheek, before I took my seat atop one of the kitchen counters.

"Good morning Ma, I slept wonderfully thank you." I grinned thinking about the day ahead, my mother turned to me smiling widely from ear to ear as she passed me my cuppa.

"You're awfully cheery this morning, what's the occasion?" She asked intrigued as she sat at the table in the middle of the kitchen, reaching for an apple from the fruit bowl.
"I'm seeing George today-"
"You see him everyday!" She giggled back in wonderment as to why I was getting so excited to see him.
"Yes but today is special!" I protest hopping off the counter and sliding onto a chair across from my mother in one swift swoop.
"Pray tell." She pestered making me blush to myself.
"Because I get to spend the full day with him and only him, none of the others for a whole day." I couldn't be happier, today would just be about me and George spending time together, no John pestering us with his sarky remarks, no Paul to interrupt us with band practise and no Pete or Ringo to ask George of favours. No, not today.

I smiled at my response, excited for the day ahead as my mother went back to sipping her tea and reading a news paper that was strewn on the table.
"That'll be nice for you sweetie." She smiled but there seemed to be something bothering her.
"Ma? Is something wrong?" I ask without a second thought, if something was bothering my mother I wanted to know.
"Hmm? Oh no there's nothing sweetheart, you best go get ready for your nice day." She spoke dismissively looking up from her newspaper before abruptly closing it and shoving it in her gown pocket.
