Yang's POV:
Yang couldn't help but smile when she saw Ruby sleeping in her bed again, Summer holding her daughter's hand while she watched an Atlesian medic checked her little sister's vitals. When she closed the door, Yang turned to see Qrow walking towards her with a tray filled with plates of food and several steaming cups.
Qrow: Hey, kiddo.
Yang: Hey, Qrow. I was just leaving to grab some food from my house and bring it here. Some fruits or something like that.
Qrow: You don't have to do that.
Yang: No, but I want to. I... it's the least I can do for you guys.
She turned and moved to walk out, but Qrow gently took hold of her arm.
Qrow: Wait.
Yang: (turning back to him) What is it?
Qrow turned his head to Ruby's room for a second before looking back to Yang, a deep sigh escaping him.
Qrow: 24 hours ago, I thought my daughter was dead and... I was in a pretty bad place. I never would've thought it was possible, but you brought Ruby back to us. Summer and I, we owe you our thanks and so much more.
Yang looked down to the floor, thinking back to the asylum before she spoke again.
Yang: I don't think I did bring Ruby back. Not really. She won't really be the same again, will she?
Qrow: (sighs) They... they left a mark on just about all of us, Yang. None of us will really be the same, but we'll be there for each other. Right?
Yang: Yeah, we will be.
Qrow: Okay. I better get going.
Yang: Same here.
They both turned away from each other and went their separate ways, the blonde making her way out of the house. Pulling the door open, Yang left the Rose household and made her way to Bumblebee, her bike propped up under a tree. Yang pulled Bumblebee away from the tree it was leaning on and guided it to the path... just as Tai walked up.
Tai: Hi, sweetheart.
Yang: Hi, Tai.
He flinched at his name and part of Yang felt guilty for that, but another part wasn't so friendly. His hands slipping into his pockets, Tai breathed out.
Tai: How is Ruby?
Yang: So far, it sounds like she'll be fine... physically, at least. We don't know if she'll need supplements after Arkham.
Tai: Look, a lot happened that night. Not all of it good.
Yang: Not much of it was good if you ask me. Listen, Dad, I need to tell you something.
Tai: (gulps) Okay. What is it?
Yang: (sighs) Nothing either of us could say right now would make what we said at the asylum go away and it's not just you. All four of you lied to us.
Tai: I... didn't really see the point in digging up old skeletons, okay?
Yang: That's not an excuse, Tai!
Tai: (flinches) I know.
Yang, her eyes a fiery crimson, turned away from her father and breathed deep. When she opened her eyes again, they were turning back to lilac as she spoke again.
