Amaimon's POV
The morning after Rin created the portal in our doorway, I awoke to find Rin and Yukio already gone. On Rin's desk, I found a note from him saying that he and Yukio had gone to school and breakfast was waiting for me. Once I had dressed, ate, and returned to my room, I grabbed the file Father had given us on Rin's missing friends.
Something stopped me in my tracks as I read the file. I had seen a name that had I recognized from my awakening - Section 13. They were holding them in Section 13. After recovering enough from my shock, I texted Rin the revelation I had discovered.Rin's POV
My phone buzzed in my pocket as the math teacher droned on. I already learned this level of math in Gahenna, so I'd entered a dream haze. Shaking the haze off, I silently retrieved my phone from my pocket.
Amai
Rin, I found your friends. They're in Section 13.Rin
Are you sure that they're still there?
How did the Vatican even find that place?Amai
I'm sure. I remember seeing the one with long blonde hair there. Maybe he told them?Rin
Perhaps. I'll tell Yukio.I tapped Yukio and showed him my phone screen, still on Amaimon's and my conversation. His eyes widened in disbelief and he started to whisper a question.
"Why did the Vatican do this?"
"I don't know. We only know that they did." I whispered back. He seemed as if he were about to say something before the teacher interrupted us.
"Both of you Okumuras, seeing as you were disinterested in the lesson, I assume you know this already. One of you, come down and solve this problem please?" Yukio went to get up, but I pulled his arm, causing him to sit once more.
"I'll go. I learned this in Gahenna already." I whispered. Getting up, I made my way to the front of the room and solved the multivariable vector-valued function (AN: the function is a type of equation in multivariable calculus) correctly. As I made my way back to my seat, she glared at me.
"Wait until class is over. We can talk then," I whispered once more as I sat down. I entered a dream haze once more as the teacher resumed her lesson. Something alerted my senses - one of the students had a holy water grenade, which would've been fine if the said grenade hadn't also contained a potent, lethal demon poison that was harmless to humans. Said student kept eyeing Yukio and I, as if contemplating throwing the grenade at us to see if we were even human, or totally human in Yukio's case.
I opened my eyes, coming out of the dream haze once more, and studied the student's backpack. He had an exorcist identification card, which proclaimed the rank of lower first class. Must've just graduated, I thought. Seeing as class would be over in a couple minutes, I subtly nudged Yukio and inclined my head towards the male grenade carrier. Getting my message, Yukio looked at the student, though he remained confused.
"He's carrying a poisoned holy water grenade. The poison is potent and lethal to demons. Lower first class exorcist. He's been watching us for the past 20 minutes."
"Oh. Do you think he suspects you aren't human?"
"Well, why else would he have a grenade effective only on demons and watching us like a hawk?" Plus, Amaimon and I did manage to dispatch Shima, who wields black flames, a feat humans would have trouble completing even in a group of 5, I silently added.
The class passed uneventfully, but the exorcist in the class began to follow us. Noticing this, I told Yukio to discreetly text Amai and tell him about our tag along and to stay in our room in case they snuck in after us. I managed to get us back to the dorms without the male catching up to us and immediately headed for a shadow in the kitchen.
I shadowtravelled, with Yukio, to our room door, opening it and entering the room. I left the door open so I could hear what was happening in the dorm building, seeing as our room was in Gahenna, not Assiah.
"Crap, he's coming, and that grenade could kill you, Amai!" I whisper shouted, closing the door.
"Shouldn't we get out of here? The door won't keep him out, you do realize, right?" Yukio commented upon hearing me. Concerned, I wondered if the exorcist would be able to get into our room, as I hadn't had the chance to test the portal and this situation was too dangerous to do so.
"I think I should close the portal. I didn't get the chance to see if it would zap Samael if he tried to enter," I telepathically informed Amai. I felt someone turn the doorknob on our door.
"Forget it, it didn't work! I'm closing the portal," I spoke aloud, forgetting to do so telepatchically, while heating up the doorknob with my flames. Once I felt a jerk on the doorknob, meaning they'd been burnt by the doorknob and had snatched their hand back, I closed the portal and stumbled in exhaustion.
"Portal? What portal are you talking about?" Did I say I was closing the portal aloud? I wondered as Amai grabbed my hand, transferring some of his energy into me.
"Yes you did," Yukio confirmed. I had to stop thinking aloud. I looked to Amai, giving him a "What do I do now?" look. He shrugged and helped me up.
"After we were attacked by Shima, I moved all of our stuff to a duplicate room in Gahenna and connected it to the dorm via a stable portal. This is the room in Gahenna, in Satan's castle." Sheepishly, I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Gahenna! Are you kidding me? We could be attacked!"
"No, I'm not kidding. Also, no demons will attack Amai or me because of two reasons. 1. We're demon kings and far more powerful than them, and 2. I'm the Crown Prince of Gahenna, meaning that Satan will step in, especially if they tried to attack me. As long as you don't attack the demons, they will leave you alone." He accepted that demons wouldn't attack but demanded proof that we were in Gahenna.
I opened the door and in walked Satan himself. At this, Yukio passed out in shock. Amai caught him and laid him on the bed. This'll be fun..._________________________________________
Hey everyone, sorry I haven't updated in awhile.
