Rin's POV

After we had finished breakfast, Father, Amai, Yukio, and I remained in the dining room, our brothers exiting. We needed to return to Assiah before school started and others discovered our absence.

"Yukio, we have to return to Assiah. Would you rather I open a portal or fire travel us there?" I wasn't sure what he was comfortable with, as the portal he hadn't known about and he'd only fire travelled without his consent as we were late to class.

"I don't care. Whichever is easier for you," was his reply. Amai, who knew I would need the sugar no matter which method of teleportation I used, had entered the room after fetching a plate of sweets.

"Brother, you should fire travel. It will take less energy," Amai commented, which received a reply of "fire travelling it is then" from me. I grabbed both of my brother's shoulders, just about to teleport, when my father interrupted.

"Rin, you may need these. Remember what you are wearing," he said, holding a stack of school uniforms out to me. I had forgotten that I was wearing royal attire. By the looks on my brothers, they had also forgotten. Sheepishly, each of us accepted an uniform and went behind one of the changing screens in each corner of the room, which Father had obviously conjured.

Once changed, I put Yukio and I's previous clothes into my pocket dimension, Amai putting his clothes in his own, vowing to wash them later since we didn't have the time to throw them in our linen baskets. For the second time, I prepared to fire travel, grabbing Amai and Yukio's shoulders as Amai touched the sweets platter to the hand on his shoulder.

"We'll see you later Father," Amai and I simultaneously said while Yukio remained silent. Just like the first time I returned to Assiah, I fire-travelled us into the forest just outside of True Cross Academy. Immediately upon our arrival, Amai pushed the platter into my line of sight, holding it there as I ate a few of the snacks to regain my energy. Since I didn't finish the plate, Amai ate the rest after offering the platter to Yukio, who selected a doughnut.

We walked through the gates, making it to the old dorms without anyone seeing us as I ended up misjudging the time and it was actually around 10 am. However, the old dorm building wasn't there. In it's place were charred, black ruins that were obviously the result of a fire. Yukio and I stared on in shock, even Amai's usual impassive face held a slight sign of surprise on it.

Samael then decided that it was a good time to appear, obviously having sensed our presence. He turned towards the ex-building, having appeared facing us, and looked back at us.

"The building burned down late yesterday night, I assume after you closed the portal in your room. You guys were officially declared dead, seeing as your last known location was in the building. Come, it's almost time for 3rd hour to end."

In a puff of pink smoke, Samael teleported us to his mansion, just as the bell rang. We appeared in his living room, where his TV was on and turned to a news story talking about the old dorms and our deaths. It showed pictures of us with our names listed below each of the pictures as the newscaster announced them.

The assassin they sent had obviously committed arson and set the place on fire, unaware that we weren't in the building, or Assiah for that matter. A fire wouldn't have killed us if we were there anyways, I could've teleported us out of the burning building before we were injured.

As the authorities weren't aware of this, they had presumed us dead immediately, and upon us not showing up, we were officially declared dead. Amai and I shared a look, telepathically commenting on how it would be easier to rescue the girls. Verbally, I repeated this to Yukio and Samael. Samael nodded, agreeing. Yukio, however brought up a very good point.

"If the girls were being held to lure me to them, wouldn't they kill them now that I'm 'dead'?"

"That's why we need to move fast. They may wait a few days and we'll need all the time we can get. I say we should go back to Gahenna, with you Samael, since we'll have more time that way."

"What do you mean? Time can't be that different." Obviously Yukio wasn't aware if the time flow.

"Three and a half days here is a year in Gahenna," Samael informed Yukio, who stood there slightly shocked. We were wasting time talking, we needed to return to Gahenna, where we could have time to form a plan in order to rescue the girls. Plus, we weren't dead in Gahenna, so we wouldn't have to hide all the time.

I spoke up. "We need to stop wasting time here and actually start planning to rescue the girls, who could only have a few Assiah hours left." All present parties seemed to realize that, and, assuming I was about to fire-travel, grabbed ahold of my shoulders or hand. They assumed correctly as I teleported us back to Gahenna, right into Father's office.

Father, who had been focusing on paperwork, startled as he suddenly sensed us. Looking up, he noticed our grim expressions. Immediately, he put his pen down and rose from his seat, slowly approaching us.

"What is it?" Were his first words once he had placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"Someone burned down the old dorms last night. All of us, expect Samael, are officially declared dead. We think that the Vatican was only keeping the girls alive to lure Yukio in to where they could catch him. Now that he is 'dead,' they will probably kill the girls, if they haven't already." I cut straight to the point, the matter being too serious to beat around the bush. He sighed, brushing a hand through his hair, his crown remaining on his desk.

"I presume you wish to rescue the girls," Father said. Yukio and I nodded causing him to continue speaking, "So, what are we waiting for? Let's start planning before they kill the girls."
