I walked through a golden meadow at sunset, the tall grass tickling my legs. I stared head on at the ever changing colors of the sky, and then I fell. I fell down a massive hole and was caught by the one and only Damon. I gripped onto his shirt and stuck my face in the crouch of his neck. I heard him murmur something under his breath.
"What did you s-," I stopped when I saw blood run down his neck from his face. I pulled away and looked up at him. His mouth was covered in blood and his eyes lost their sparkling feature.
"See you in hell... Pumpkin," he dropped me and I fell down the rest of the way.
I jumped up from the bed screaming; tears flowing over my cheeks. The door busted open and I saw Elena's slender figure run in.
"Jer what's wro-. (Y/n)? Omg what happened? Are you okay?" She wrapped her arms around me as I continued to cry. It had to be at least 3 am and I knew I might wake up everyone, but I couldn't control myself. It felt as if I had been betrayed... but it was just a dream.
"I-I'm s-s-sorry," I sobbed. Elena just stroked my back and hummed something I couldn't understand until I fell back asleep.
[Time Skip to the Next Morning]
I let everything go back to normal as I awoke. I dressed myself slowly. I hadn't woken Jeremy or Jenna and Elena hadn't told them. I grabbed a breakfast bar and started my walk to school. Elena soon caught up with me.
"Hey," she said softly, "what happened last night?"
I didn't look at her. I couldn't look at her. It would make me cry again. "I don't know. I think I had a night terror," I said without emotion.
I could tell she was worried, but she didn't push me to tell her. We arrived at school shortly after. She gave me a short sad smile and we parted off to our first hour classes.
[Two Days Later]
I had just got home from school and I was extremely tired. I plopped down on my bed the instant I saw it and curled into my blankets. As my eyes shut and my brain escaped into a day dream like state, my sister heard a knock at out front door. She went to open it and had her first encounter with my charcoal haired friend.
"Hi. Is this the Gilbert residence?" he said with a sly grin.
"Yes. How can I help you?" my sister said unfazed by his attempt to charm her.
"I'm here to see (Y/n)."
"Why?"
"Let's just say I'm a friend, and she's not having the best day."
They both jumped as my scream shattered their conversation in two.
Damon turned to Elena, "Was that-"
"If you are really her friend get in here and help me."
The two bolted up the stairs and ran into my room. I was lying on my back yelling toward the ceiling. Damon ran to my side and shook me.
"Wake up!" he said.
My eyes opened and I instantly pushed him away and crawled to the other side of the bed where Elena was. I grabbed onto her and looked at him win cold eyes.
"FUCK OFF YOU BLOOD SUCKER!" I screamed with all my might and then passed out cold.
[Three Hours Later]
I awoke to Elena stroking the back off my hand. My eyes opened slowly and I saw Jer and her sitting next to each other.
"This happened a few days ago too... she just started screaming in her sleep..." my sister whispered.
"Elena, this isn't something I can help with. You need to confront her about this and get her to open up to you. She won't talk to me about this type of stuff," Jeremy rose out of his seat and walked out. I heard the front door slam and I felt Elena moved to go after him but I gripped her hand stopping her.
"Why was Damon here?" I mumbled.
"Who's Damon?"
"Black hair, blue eyes, decent face?"
"You must be really out of it, (Y/n). The only people that have seen you were me and Jer."
