I avoided Damon at all cost for the next week. I would take different ways home from school or pretend I was sick, as long as it meant I didn't have to see him. I couldn't even breakup with him. Elena let curiosity get the best of her. She informed me that Stefan was not a monster and used his gifts to help others. She said that he could heal with his blood and he still loved and cared for her. I could've told her that, but I keep my mouth shut on my predictions. Elena also told me that Damon was not like Stefan. She said he had no heart and would kill anyone who caused him any inconvenience. That part scared me. I didn't believe her, but I couldn't even stand the thought of looking at him anymore. I'm not afraid of him, I'm just afraid of the vampire part. This stressed me out so much that I made Elena promise not to tell Jeremy. He was starting to heal and he couldn't process this right now.
I laid in my bed silently until Elena bust the door open. She looked a bit panicked but then again she was over dramatic at times.
"What's wrong," I signed, utterly unfazed.
"The town's coming after Stefan and Damon. Apparently the founding families all know about vampires and have their eyes on them. I need you to come with me," she said quickly and then shut my door.
I rolled over and groaned. Only to hear my door open yet again and get hit in the head with a pillow. I turned to look at my attacker.
"I wasn't asking," Elena state.
[20 minutes later]
Elena drove as I whined in the seat next to her. I had no idea where we were going and she refused to tell me. I stopped nagging at her and turned away from her to look out the window. We soon arrived at a large, dark colored mansion. She parked us by the front doors and quickly exited the car pulling me with her.
I began to question her again, "Who the hell lives here?"
I soon got my answer when the door swung open revealing none other than Stefan Salvatore. Oh hell no. That why she didn't tell me where we were going. My face began to flush hot red with anger and my (e/c) orbs darkened.
"You bitch," I said turning to her, "I took care of you and this is how you repay me. I'm leaving."
I turned around ready to sprint, but immediately ran into a hard chest, "Sorry, can't let that happen."
I looked up to see my raven haired boyfriend smirking down at me. He gently grabbed my hand and walked me inside his house along with the others. At this point, I was too shocked to even fight back. I avoided this man for weeks and he just grabbed my hand like nothing was wrong. Damon sat me down next to him on the couch and Elena and Stefan sat across from us. Stefan began to explain the situation and what we could do to help. I dozed in and out of the conversation. Eventually I was able to focus again.
"So the council is going to try to wipe out all the vampires in this town because some of us got sloppy and left their food lying around," Stefan said.
"For the last time that wasn't me," Damon growled next to me.
I looked to Elena who looked stressed and confused. She was staring at me like I had a horn on my head.
"What's wrong?" I mouthed. She looked down to my side and then back at me. My eyes trailed down and I realize Damon was still holding my hand. I quickly untangled my hand from his grip and moved it to my lap.
Elena's attention left me as her and Stefan began to talk about the plan that would save their cover. Meanwhile Damon turned to me, his eyes had never left me the whole time I had been in the boardinghouse. His hand sat on the couch next to my leg in the same place I had left it. I kept glancing at him from the corner of my eye. He opened his mouth and tried to speak to me.
"Don't," I blurted softly. I realize I had once again caught my sisters eye.
"Elena I'm leaving," I said standing up, "I can't do this right now."
[That Night]
The plan went into action as soon as then sun set. We would show up and socialize together at the carnival. Before the founders council could activate the device we would notify Damon and Stefan letting them know that they need to leave. This way they would be safe, but still thought to be human. After a lot of convincing I agreed to the plan.
I had on a white long sleeve and a (f/c) shirt. My legs moved me from place to place around the carnival meanwhile my heart was on cloud nine. I was nervously excited to see Damon but I also still hated him. I had done pretty well at avoiding him all night until I turned around after getting some cotton candy to see him across the crowd staring at me. I sent a small wave and in the moment my eyes blinked, he was standing next to me.
"Damon!" I whisper screamed, "We are trying to save you and you are putting yourself and the rest of us in jeopardy!"
"I know, I know, but a guys got to be cunning," he smirked.
I rolled my eyes at him. I felt his hand touch mine and slowly our fingers interlock. I smiled for a second, but then I remembered that Damon has killed so many people. My smile faded and I let go of his hand.
"(Y/n)..." he started but I shook my head so he wouldn't speak.
"Damon I can't forgive you yet. I don't know if I ever will be able to."
He tried to respond back but then Elena showed up and told him that the council was going to start their plan to rid Mystic Falls of vampires. Damon turned to me and gave me one last smirk before he disappeared to safety. I reached down and held Elena's hand.
"I'm sorry for getting so mad earlier. I love you more than anything in the world. I just wasn't re-"
I never complete my sentence because of a huge pain overwhelming me. My head felt like it was being compressed down and the world began to spin. My vision blurred and I dropped to the ground in pain screaming along with many others in the crowd. All the vampires in Mystic Falls yelled in pain, alerting the Founders Council to come and get them. I heard someone yell and then my body was lifted and carried down a staircase. I was dropped on the floor harshly and I could smell gasoline around me.
The pain began to subside and I got my vision back. I saw many surrounding me in a dark basement that was beginning to grow orange with fire. I looked up. Across from me was Mayor Lockwood and next to me was a man with fangs. Luckily for me the man was asleep. I realized that for some reason I had been affected by the council's device. My legs were sore so I used my arms to drag me towards the stairs leading out.
"I'm going to die here surrounded by murders," my mind screamed. Tears streamed down my face as my strength began to give out. Just as I was about to loose consciousness the exit door busted open and a silhouette ran down and lifted me off the staircase.
"God damnit, (Y/n)," the silhouette said to me, "You can't die before I tell you I love you,"
