chapter five

a/n this chapter is super short but the next one is longer so yeah "holy shit." carter muttered taking in what we were seeing
we walked to a bakery and got breakfast.
"what time is it?" I asked
"almost seven." Alex answered smiling at me
"why are you looking at me like that?!" I laughed
"because Kenz."
"your weird Alex!"
we fished and left back to the hotel were carter and Jenna's mom was putting the stuff in the car.
we got in the car everyone was too tired to speak. we drove for a while before carter and Alex turned the music on Jenna and I rolled our eyes knowing that no one was gonna change it and their mom honestly didn't seemed to care. we all started singing and laughing our eyes off. we come to our school as their mom stopped.
"bye." she said
"wait we have to go to school?" carter rolled his eyes
we all got out...school started in about 30 minutes. we walked in as the kids in the cafeteria waiting for school to start looked at me as if I killed someone.
"why is everyone looking at me like that?" I said quit annoyed.
"mackenzie,your still wearing Alex's sweatshirt." carter laughed.
"oh yeah...." I laughed starting to slip it off from over my head.
"no keep it on kenz it looks cute on you." Alex smiled.
Ella came running into school and ran over to us.
"what happen to you two?" she asked me and Jenna.
I looked down at my outfit,my hair was in the most messy bun ever I had black leggings and Alex's orange sweatshirt with a blue under amor sine on it. and Jenna who was wearing her aldc jacket and white leggings with blue dots all over them and had her hair in a braid she had done the next before.
"a lot..." we laughed.
"oh my god Kenzie!" Ella smiled
"whatttt now?" I whined.
"your wearing Alex's sweatshirt!!"
"oh yeah that..." I started to blush.
"god Alex when are you gonna ask her out?" Ella laughed.
"I've only known her for like a week!" Alex laughed.
"Alex ask her out!!" Ella and Jenna chanted.
the bell rang as everyone rolled their eyes at Alex and made their way up the stairs to first hour. I threw my dance bag into my locker. and took my history stuff to history.
I walked in right before the bell rang.
"please continue the activity from Monday." the teacher said.
I walked over to Alex.
"hey kenz." he smiled.
"hey." I answered sitting down next to him.
"ok truth or truth."
"truth..."
we ended up having a conversation about stupid stuff and laughing our heads off.
this is how most of the day went,messing around with my friends and listing to people keep telling Alex he should ask me out.
"hey Ella." I'm gonna go home and change and then I'll met you at your house.
"sounds good!" she answered walking over to he moms car as I walked over to mine
"hey momma." I said getting in.
"you feel aright?" she asked
"why?" I asked
"you just look a little sick."
actually yes,I felt a bit sick but it was just nerves I mean I was going to my first party!
"I'm fine."
I walked into the house as I fell.
no I wasn't ok.
"mom!" I cried in pain.
she picked me up yelled something to my step dad and laid me in the back of the car as she drove to the hospital.
we got to the hospital which felt as if I could of been 10,000 miles away.
we got inside and after that it was a blur. I woke up in a hospital bed who knows how long later. tears feel down my eyes what was wrong with me.
"hey kenz baby." mom smiled a sad smile
"what's wrong with me." I cried
"kenz...you have neuroblastoma." she said starting to cry.
"what's-what's that?" I asked.
"cancer."
