Four – Addison
"Shit, that means I know him, too don't I?" I shrugged my shoulders, yea of course he did. "What's his name?"
"Gavin Reid." He threw his head back and laughed.
"I hated that kid!" I smiled shaking my head. They were on rival Hockey teams, never got along and Houston got drafted, Gavin didn't. He stopped laughing at got really serious while looking at me. "I remember you. We uh, we. God this is going to make me an even bigger asshole. When his team beat us that only year, the uh, the stakes were who got to pursue you basically."
"Excuse me?" He opened his mouth but shut it right away breathing hard out of his nose.
"I, shit." He wasn't making eye contact with me, so I took my hand and placed it on his cheek to force his eyes to mine.
"It was a long time ago, just shocked I never knew about it."
"It wasn't any of our place to say anything to you about it, and I'm sorry, truly." I gave him a small smile as the door opened without a knock and we both looked at it.
"Sorry, we've got to." Devon pointed. I looked back at Houston who nodded at Devon then moved our hands, so his fingers intertwined with mine.
"Ready?" I took a deep breath.
"As I'll ever be." We both smiled, now knowing a little about the other and figuring out how far back we actually go. We may pull this off, and way easier than I'd ever imagine. Our chemistry was uncanny that's for sure.
We walked hand in hand back to the employee's only door.
"Just come back here after the game, we can go grab something to eat." I smiled at him before nodding and pushing open the door. Instantly people looked over and started screaming his name, I looked down and followed Devon to find my seat.
"Your life is about to get crazy. I just need you to be aware of that. Like the second he posts a picture of the two of you people are going to try and find you on every social media platform. They're going to try to confirm details right away and put everything together. We will help you guys get out in front of it as quickly as possible, but I need you to fully trust Sean and I. We know what we are doing I promise you that." I nodded. "Do you have social media?"
"Yea." I laughed.
"Okay, you guys technically have been together about a month. So, once it becomes public knowledge, he has to announce you're his girlfriend by posting a picture first. Then you will have to back it up with pictures also."
"Okay." I shrugged my shoulders. This all seemed so silly.
"This hopefully will go smoothly. Did you guys figure out a how you met story?"
"We've kind of known one another since school, so it wasn't hard to fill in some pieces." His eyes went wide, and I smiled. "I didn't want to tell you that right away. Sorry."
"No, its fine, just glad this is going to be even more believable now." He laughed. "Alright here is your seat. Enjoy the show." He smiled again. "Text me if you have any questions or anything, oh and I'll text you his number you kind of need that. Oh!" He lifted his arm up producing a zip-up hoodie. "It's cold, you'll want to wear this. Plus, it had his name and number on it." He shrugged handing it to me. I nodded, put the sweatshirt on and sat down next to a gorgeous blonde. She turned to look at me, looking down at the '91' on my chest, before looking back at my face her smile falling slightly.
"Hi, I'm Marie." It wasn't pleasant.
"Addison, nice to meet you."
"You too, so to jump right into it..." She eyed me for a second.
