Aaron's truck above.

They pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant as he parked his truck

"Chickpea, Can we talk before we go in?" He asked unbuckling and turning to her

"Of course" she spoke softly as she did the same

"It's no secret i like you, Right?" He asked holding her hand in his

"Um...I..I didnt know you did" she stuttered looking at their hands

"Well i do...Have for a while actually" he said cupping her cheek, She looked at him intently as he continued

"Being back here has brought back so many memories and seeing you at the barbecue yesterday..." He stopped as she placed her hand over the one on her cheek

"Aaron...I'm dating someone now" she spoke as she looked down

"You are?" He asked as he lowered his hand from her cheek

"I thought after Simon your parents didn't allow you to see anyone anymore" he said slightly leaning back in his seat

"They didnt, But things change...You know?" she spoke as she looked at him

"Yeah...I guess they do" he said as he stared at her face, They sat in silence before Amelia broke it

"I remember when i used to have the biggest crush on you, Everytime i saw you i hoped you would just say you liked me too...But you never did" she said as she smiled at him,

"And when you moved to new york i was heartbroken" she finished as she sighed

"...I never knew you felt that way about me" he said as he continued to watched her

"I didnt make it super obvious" She said as he nodded his head

"I thought I'd never see you again and after a couple months went by i met Simon.

e didn't help, But after a while i just...Didnt like you like that anymore" she finished looking at him again

"I wish to god i had stayed here, You never would have been with that dipshit if I had" he gritted out the last part

"It's in the past, I didnt want to date anyone for a while after that, But then i met..." She paused as she thought of Maddox

"I was too late" he whispered as he rubbed her hand, She gave a small smile as he returned it

"He better treat you like the queen you are" he spoke seriously as she smiled wider

"Mm, And if he doesn't you will be the first to know" she said as she hugged him

"Good, Because i will kill him, I have absolutely no problem with that" he spoke returning her hug as she laughed at his words

"Now let's go eat because i'm starving" he said as he opened the door.

[Later that night]

It was 8pm when they were on their way back to Amelia's house, Instead of just going to lunch; They went to the movies then the park and on the way home they got ice cream

"Thanks for today Aaron" Amelia said as Aaron parked the truck

"Don't thank me Lia, I had an amazing time" he said getting out of the vehicle

"I did too, It was great" she spoke as she walked to stand in front of him

"Lia just to make it clear, You are still my chickpea, Our conversation earlier was just that; A conversation...I'm still here whenever you need me. Dont act like I'm not, Okay?" he finished with a sincere smile

"I know, Thank you" she smiled up at him

"Always chickpea" he smiled back as she rolled her eyes at him

"I'm never gonna live that down am i?" She asked as she rolled her eyes

"Nope" he said laughing at her

"I don't even eat chickpeas anymore" she defended as she crossed her arms over her chest

"Really?" He asked raising an eyebrow at her

"...No, I still do" she mumbled as he laughed out again

"Thought so" he spoke as he patted her upper arm

"Night Aaron" she said lightly hugging him

"Night chickpea" he spoke hugging her back, He got into his truck and drove down the road. As Amelia turned to go into her house she noticed Maddox walking angrily towards her, She also noticed neither of her parents were home.
