Amelia sighed out as she drank her cup of coffee, It was 12pm and her parents had to work, Her mother had wished her a happy birthday before she left the house, Her father however; Didn't spare her a single look, But he left her a birthday note on the counter, He was pissed but he loved his daughter to no end. She didn't want her birthday to get in the way of her parents work, So she just spent the day listening to music and watching netflix. She was sitting in the living room texting when she heard the door bell ring through the house

"Hey Aaron, What's up?" she greeted as she answered the door to find Aaron standing there with his hands in his pockets

"Not much, Just wanted to know if you wanted to hang? It's your birthday and all...Plus i'm hella bored" he explained groaning the last part, She giggled softly at him as she glanced at Maddox's house, She saw the same woman from the barbecue going up to his front door

"What the hell?" she mumbled to herself as Aaron looked to where she was staring

"Chickpea? You alright" Aaron questioned turning back to her

"Yeah I'm fine. Let's hang out" she smiled as she saw Maddox open the door with a confused look on his face, She wanted so bad to go over there and tell that woman to leave...But she couldn't, What right did she have now? Maddox probably hated her and her family at this point...Her dad punched the shit out of him, Sure he acted like it didn't faze him; But how do you explain this now?

"Are you and that guy dating?" He asked as he watched her intently

"I...I thought we were" she whispered as she saw Maddox look over at her and Aaron

"Who's the chick?" He asked as he glanced back over to the house

"...It's not important anyway. Come on" she spoke as she stepped aside to let him in

"...Alright. You better have food in there" he laughed as he entered her house

"Always" she replied as she took one last look over to the dreaded house that held the man she loved.
Maddox glared at Amelia's front door as he watched her let him in
"Hey! Dox right?" Charlotte asked as she smiled a toothy yet oddly forced smile
"Maddox. How can I help you?" he asked as he continued to look past her
"I made you a pot roast, Think of it as a housewarming gift" she purred eagerly as he rolled his eyes, She held out the container as he just stared at it
"I'm okay, Thanks" he spoke as he nodded curtly
"It's very rude to deny something so inviting Maddox, Especially when it's free" she spoke with a double meaning as she licked her lips, He inwardly cringed as his name left her lips, It sounded fake...His own name sounded fake coming from her
"Then, I'm the most rudest person you've ever met because I don't want the roast...Or you for that matter" he spoke honestly as he slammed his front door, She gasped loudly as she stomped through his grass.

[Later]

"You...You remember at your twelfth birthday party...when Lucas vomited all over your dress" Aaron spoke between laughter

"God yes...I wanted to kill him" Amelia laughed as she ate her lo mein, It was 6:30pm Her and Aaron had stayed at her house all day, Then they started to get hungry so they ordered Chinese

"We had a lot of fun back then" Amelia sighed as she sat her container down on the coffee table

"Sure did, I miss that, The old times I mean" he spoke as he smiled at her

"Me too, Maybe we could see each other more, we could all come see you in new York sometimes too" she explained thoughtfully as he nodded

"I would very much enjoy that, It gets boring sometimes" he smiled as he spoke

"oh! I got you something" he added as he reached in his jacket pocket

"You didnt have to do that Aaron" she said as he gave her a little bright pink box

"Just open it chickpea" he said teasingly as he nodded, As she opened the box she was met with a silverlined rose gold heart Pendant with her name engraved into it as it hung from a silver chain

"Aaron...Thank you so much" she gasped as she hugged him close

"Happy birthday chickpea" he whispered in her ear as they pulled away

"And Just a heads up, Your parents are throwing you a surprise party this Saturday" he added as he showed her the text they sent him

"Well, Thanks for telling me" she rolled her eyes as she walked him to the door

"No problem" he said as they stopped at her front door

"It sucks you won't be there, Well...Here I mean" She giggled slightly as he smiled at her

"I wish I could be, I'm sorry babygirl" he spoke as he embraced her

"Don't apologize, Thank you again, For the necklace" she spoke as they pulled away

"You're very welcome" he chuckled As she opened the door for him, She came face to face with Maddox as she let out an inaudible gasp.
