Chapter 06: "Couple"

Chapter 06

The squad: You, Gou, Makoto, Rei, Nagisa and Haru- created a plan of having a free day off for today, Saturday, and skip swimming lessons first.

It was actually a good idea since that plan made you recall what happened to your father, for the cause of his death, that you know for sure, he didn't deserve.

"Ready?" Rei nonchalantly questioned everyone while he pushed his glasses back on his nose bridge.

Nonetheless, everyone finally took off and start leaving to go to the amusement park. Which was by the way, exactly Gou's idea.

For approximately twenty two minutes, you and the others got to the destination place. You left altogether before five in the afternoon, thats why the sky up high was darkening little by little.

Gou's smile, which was like permanently sticked on her face ever since you all left to go here, was literally glowing. "Lets go by partners since we can't enjoy altogether in one exterior to another." she beamed in verge of joy.

Everyone else nodded with her genius idea.

Since no one can in the group can just choose which partner they would like to be with, you all just played rock-paper-scissors for fair and square.

Makoto was partnered with Rei, Nagisa was partnered with Haruka and Gou, obviously was partnered by you.

"Shall we get started on our trips?" Makoto smiled and asked.

Gou's face darken. But a few seconds later, something ticked on her head and was back to smiling. "I'll first exchange partners with Haruka." she giggled and grinned behind your ear.

Everyone looked puzzled at her out-of-blue declare.

Staring at her in confusion, you lifted a brow. "Don't do that Gou! We already did rock-paper-scissors for fairnes-" you were cutted off by the tone of her loud voice.

"Okay! Come on Nagisa, I'll have a very blast time with this guy." as Gou emphasized the word 'very' on her sentence, Nagisa shivered in fear and started covering both of his ears.

On the other hand, Haruka just walked beside you with his hands still tucked in his pockets with his oversized t-shirt saying "Its Complicated".

Everyone started marching off with their partners and head to their first planned ride in the park.

You spoke to break of the awkward silence between you and Haruka. "Where do you wanna go first?" you asked in a voice barely audible.

He shifted his eyes to you, "You choose."

Looking back at his orbs, studying the blue color in his eyes which gave you a weird feeling down your chest to your palms. "Lets go get ice cream!" you squealed and smiled.

Nodding slightly, you started running in a faster pace than his. He called out your name which made you stop and look over your shoulder, seeing Haruka jogging his way to you.

"Don't leave me behind." he stammered as he held your free-hanging hand that was on the side of your thighs with a tightening grip.

With that simple action of his, your face brightened and your heart loudly beated from every step you take from your walk beside Haruka.

He noticed your skin paled a bit with the red tint, assuming you blushed on your cheeks. "You alright?"

Looking away from his face, you fixed a small smile. "Super." you answered.

Reaching the ice cream truck, the cashier manager asked: "Hi, good evening! What delicious ice cream flavor would you two couples like?"

A thud was felt on your chest onward as both you and Haruka heard the word from what the male cashier manager energetically said. Haruka and you passed glances to each other.

You sheepishly smiled, "Uh.. err.. sorry, were not a couple--"

Purposely cutting you off, Haruka took out his leather-coated wallet and said, "I would like a regular vanilla ice cream and.." he glanced at you, in a face asking what flavor you want.

You continued his sentence offguard, "-and a regular (flavor) ice cream, please."

The cashier manage, who's mind was obviously confused with the two of you, just nodded and shouted at her back: "I WANT A REGULAR (your flavor) ICE CREAM AND A VANILLA ICE CREAM STACK!!"

As Haruka and you turned your heads and waited for your ice creams to come. You both laughed, which erased the awkward tension from the air a minute ago.

"Couples? Huh?" you teasingly hit your shoulder to his broad one and giggled a bit.

He paused and shooked his head off, seemed like he was thinking of something.

"Pshh.." he formed a small smile on his lips to a grin. "Its not like its true." he added.

Your smile slowly faded from your face from his phrase, from the reason you could never understand. Yet.

Few minutes later, your ice creams along with Haruka was finally given to both of you from the ice cream truck. "Thank you for buying! Come again!"

You were about to go inside the amusement park through the opened gates again but Haruka enveloped his hand on yours again, making you rather flinch.

He walked away from the gate leading to the park, you did the same action since he has his hand holding yours again. "Lets just go somewhere else." he said to lessen my confusion towards him.

You both got to an exterior, empty of crowded people and with a view of a sea and a sunset collapsing to each other, making the yellow-orange tint of sunset reflect from the water. You were amazed on how beautiful it looked.

The fresh air caressed on your cheeks, making your hair flew at your back like a cape.

"This is honestly so much better than being the park, just admitting." you told Haruka with a relaxed smile.

Haruka fidgeted and interlaced his fingers to yours, making you realize he was still holding your hand. The same old blush flew across your cheeks- no, not just your cheeks but your entire face.

The view was breathtaking, it looked so ethereally perfect. (not as perfect as the cinamon roll beside you-)

"I'll defintely keep this moment as my best memory ever."
