Chapter 35
Your POV*
You didn't understand why it was so difficult. You sat beside your window with a view of the same streets you stare every single day, with your elbow relaxed on the windowsill.
A heavy sigh escaped your lips as you bow your head into your arms and groaned in frustration. "Damn, Haruka, why? Why is it so hard to ignore and move on about you?"
Ever since that day when you knew about the unknown picture, you started throwing trantrums and started to feel so depressed. Its like you think everything is yours to blame.
It has also been already two months meaning new year's eve started, but you got to admit- "This is the worse start of new year's eve, ever."
Ever since the incident with your mother, who is like right now still in the hospital. Unfortunately, she has a disease called Statue Syndrome.
Statue Syndrome is when usually a particular person's bones form in areas such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and across the joints. In short, your muscles transforms into bones.
So recently, you've only been home alone since your father is also just working everyday non-stop, especially after hearing your mother's awful condition. He just woudn't stop working.
You sighed again, but this time- only mentally. "What do I do.. what do I do..." you questioned yourself in a mumbling way as if you were a lazy person just laying in bed.
You wanted to help your mother before anything else, but the thing is- you have no idea how.
Thoughts brushed off your mind once you heard someone knocking on your door. Without still even moving, you just kept your eyes composed to the view from your window and said, "Come in."
The door creaked open and as it did, a female voice spoke energetically, "Hi squiddo!" Gou collasped herself into your back and squeezed you unded her teddy hug tightly.
You slapped her arm and groaned in annoyance, yet your lips twitches into a curve. "Stop, my arm hurts!" you declared and eventually by surprise, she followed but still hasn't change her mood.
"Oh, c'mon. You're still acting like this, squiddo?"
You lowered your head. Your eyes now averting at the floor, not even giving a single glance to Gou who was now sitting on your bed with a bright smile.
"Why do you care?" you rolled your orbs. You were seriously not in the mood whatsoever. "And how did you get in my house?"
She grins at you like you were clueless as ever. "The main door infront of your house was unlock, silly!" she laughs at you but it didn't give any effect to you. "You should be lucky it was only me who came in, you know? What if-"
You finally looked at her and avert your gaze to her. You narrowed your eyes and made both of your brows arch down. "What do you want?"
Gou takes a minute of a pause first, she grins widely again. "Well, to be straightforward right now, I want you to come with me-"
"Where?"
"Its a surprise!" she says making you flush a confuse expression across your face. You scratch your nape, "Just tell me, or els-"
"Don't be a stubborn squid, (Y/n)-chan!" she pouts and take your soft hand then pulls you out from the chair you were just seating on near your windowsill filled with picture frames. "Just come, you'll love it."
**
It didn't took long to arrive at the desired destination of the cheerful womanoid who was lowkey irritating you since she popped inside your room out of nowhere.
You were infront of Haruka's house and that instantly gave you bad vibes. "I don't like this." you mutter and free yourself from Gou's grip. "I'm going-" but Gou pulls back your hand and tightened more her grip. "No, we already got here so there's no going back now!"
You dramatically groaned at her, her mischievious grin just plastered on her face makes you want to swipe it off from her so bad.
She leads you at the back of Haruka's house which was his very own garden. It was dark and you could barely see anything, it instantly gave you goosebumps from your skin.
"W-Why i-is it s-so dark..??" you stutter and you didn't even realize that you were hiding at Gou's back like a small mochi.
"Don't worry, I'll turn on the lights for you, squiddo!" Gou told you while giggling silently at your reaction and fear of darkness.
The lights finally opened and filled in a more warming temperature inside the garden, "All better now? I didn't know you were scared of the dark." Gou teased you, still giggling like some weird lady.
You rolled your orbs at her annoying self, "Everyone has fears, okay?!-" then you cut your sentence off as you scanned the whole garden, you gasped a bit, "Is there a birthday party here?!" Gou laughed hard again.
You also noticed the balloons and that made you puzzled up. "I'm sorry?.. why are the balloons apologizing?"
Gou shakes her head at you, trying to prevent herself from stuttering because of laughing. "No silly. The thing is, I have something to tell you." Gou starts. "This place is for apologizing because Haru-"
As her sentence trailed off, her eyes widened and you noticed it. Her expression spitted bad news and curiosity piqued you. "What is it? What are you looki-" you mirrored Gou's movement and shifted your head.
"Rin-kun!"
