Chapter 07: Playing

Chapter 07

On the very next week with a casual tuesday, you and Nagisa were playing uno-cards on the long occupied table from a far distance to the swimming pool area.

"H-Hey!! You placed two cards there!-- Literally cheating!" you babbled out loud as you grinded your teeth. Nagisa chuckled as he got exposed.

You crossed your arms as you leaned back down on your chair with a miserable pout with your muzzle letting out air like some pig.

"That's why I kept on loosing.." your eyes glints dark to the bad-sport kid infront of you.

He continued blasting out chuckles with an uneven grin. "Chillax, its just a game (Y/n)." Makoto smiled on your direction with water sliding on his face from his wet messy hair.

You rolled your eyes with full sass and stood up from your chair, showing off a pause first then throwing all your left uno cards on your hands to Nagisa's burdened face that wiped the grin off of his mouth.

A quarrel was about to start until Gou called out everyone's attention.

As she was walking, her arms was glued to some unfamiliar male with scarlet hair along with his eyes. It was clearly obvious that he was Gou's older brother.

"(Y/n)-chan! Meet my older brother, Rin Matsuoka!" Gou gestured him towards you then she lends his hand, extending right to you for a welcoming shake.

You showed your signature smile and hesitantly shooked your hands with scarlet boy, also known as Rin. "Nice to meet you, I'm (Y/n) (L/n)." your smile widens more as you met his eyes.

He nodded back as a reply.

As your hands released from one another, Gou collapse her arm around your neck to your shoulder, following a quirky wink.

You lifted a brow as a why wink? Then she just giggled and pointed her thumb at her back, your eyes followed from where she was pointing to. You saw Haruka with an intimidated expression as he was in the water.

Looking back to Gou, you made a puzzled expression but she just chuckled to you. She was showing a face saying your not getting it, are you? Making you even more confuse.

Goodness, this is more confusing than being in a math class.

"What's up Rin? How's Samezuka Academy?" Makoto asked with a warm, welcoming pleasured look.

It didn't took long for him to answer but it seemed like he was really uncomfortable being here. "Great as always." he replied, eyes glueing to the sight of the water in the swimming pool.

"Want to dug in?" Nagisa questioned, asking if he wants to take a swim for awhile since his here.

He just shaked his head and glanced at Haruka with a smirk. "No thanks, now's not the time anyway. Maybe next time?"

They nodded to him. "Okay, if you say so.."

The situation and conversation was so stiff and awkward that made you cringe to the core. You smiled and break off the awkward tension, "Scarlet boy."

Everyone's attention was shifted to you as you spoke so suddenly. Rin shotted you a confuse look as he knew the nickname was for him. "Scarlet boy??" he cringed at the nickname.

You pointed at a table full of cards scattered here and there. You gestured your way towards it. "Wanna play?"

"Hold on! I'll join too!!" Gou ran and grabbed a stack of black-colored chairs and sat one from it. "Come on, come on! Its been awhile since we played this game!" she motioned her hands to the others saying to come and join.

Nagisa, Makoto, Rin and Rei followed, occupying vacant chairs and pulling it on the table. As you were still fixing and organizing the cards to be ready, a mere thud was felt on your chest as you saw Haruka still in the water, not even giving effort to join.

You whispered into Gou's ear about it that made her grin widen more. "You know what? We'll play and you two have some bonding in the pool.." Gou said then quickly took the cards from your hands.

Before you protest to decline, she shotted a glare at you like dont you dare, making you gulp down your own saliva and just nod, standing up from your chair.

"He doesn't play this kind of games, he only plays when a game is included or relates with water. So go and brighten up his day (Y/n)!" Gou explained, she's really adorable being childish.

Nodding once more, you changed into your swim wear in the women's locker room and hesitantly jumped in the pool. You called out for Haruka's name.

"W-Why are you here?? Aren't you going to play with-"

Your sudden movement, splashing water on his face made him flinch. His reaction was priceless!

"What?!-" you splashed more and more ti'll he had this playful looking smirk crossing his lips. He reversed the cards on the table and started splashing water to you this time!

Dying from laughter, you noticed the others who were playing was only watching you two having a moment. Gou giggled, "Alright, lets join them!"
