"Do you think they're okay?" I asked Calum for about the thousandth time. Luke and Yasmin said that they needed 'space' so they could discuss the matter at hand, which was the reason as to why Calum and I were cooped up in my room waiting. To be honest I didn't understand this, seeing as though they wanted us there in the first place.

"I'm sure that they're fine. They can sort things out for themselves."

"I know, I know..." I said absentmindedly.

"You might want to stop pacing then," Calum smiled.

Against my own will, I stopped pacing and sat down next to Calum. He was half lying down, half sitting up with his guitar rested in his lap. He strummed quietly at the strings and I started singing along with the music.

"So haven't you heard? Once again, we know she never trusted you. But when hours feel like days, even she can't change the tragic hole she's made," I sang.

Calum stopped playing. "How do you know that song?"

"Cloud Nine by Masketta Fall? It's legitimately one of my favourite songs." A thought struck me. "How do you know how to play it?"

"They were the opening act for one of our shows," Calum explained cooly.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. "So, you've like seen them play? In real life?"

"Seen them play? Honey, I've met them!"

I clasped my mouth with my hand to stop all inhumane sounds from escaping. Calum had met Masketta Fall. He had met them. MET THEM. I had to concentrate really hard to stop myself from fangirling. Luckily, Yasmin called out to us from the other room and I was able to distract myself from the fangirling. Well ot completely distract but maybe just slightly divert my train of thought.

I took a deep breath and entered into the room in which Luke and Yasmin were sitting. Luke stood up and adjusted his hoodie.

"I'll see you later," he said quietly as he walked out the front door.

Calum looked at me. "I'm just gonna see if he's okay. He doesn't sound it. I'll leave you two to it."

Calum left quickly in pursuit of Luke, leaving Yasmin and I alone.

"So how about we get back to High School Musical?" Yasmin asked.

"Not so fast Yasmin. What happened?" I sighed. "I thought you two were going to work things out."

"We did," Yasmin stated, trying to hide all emotion from her face.

"Usually when you work things out, both people are okay with the decision and I'm sorry but Luke seemed hardly okay."

Yasmin shrugged. "I told him that I couldn't date him right now."

"Yasmin..."

"Hazel, you don't understand. What I caught him doing, it wasn't a once off. It's been months. And I didn't know."

I gave Yasmin a massive hug. "Well then you did the right thing Yasmin. He's an idiot for doing that to you."

"But I still love him. He cheated on me and I still love him. What the hell is wrong with me?"

"There's nothing wrong with you Yasmin. Nothing at all..."

"Then why do I still love him Hazel? Why?" She was pleading me now. Like I had the answers to everything in the world. In this moment, I realised how vulnerable human beings actually are. All our lives we put up with being kicked, beaten and dragged through the dirt and what do we get in return? New love that one day is going to end the same way? It was just one big massive cycle of hurt and destruction. Of course, I kept my thoughts from Yasmin; I didn't want to make her anymore depressed. Insetad, I gave her words of wisdom from Stephen Chbosky.

"Because you accept the love you think you deserve. And you deserve better than him Yasmin."

"Do I Hazel? Do I really?"

"Yes Yasmin. Yes you do."
