"Pens down." Miss Nguyens voice resounded in the walls of the silent hall. I crossed my arms and had to stifle a laugh. I hadn't picked up a pen all exam, there was no need for me to drop one.

"Can the reader writers please bring the papers up to the front? The rest of you are free to go."

Snatching up my pencil case, I practically ran out of the hall, desperate to escape the confides of these walls. And desperate to escape Calum. With my head down and my arms shoved in my pockets I walked but I wasn't really sure where I was going. My iPod blasted music into my ears and my head pounded. The world swam around me. People merged together. The sky became the ground. I felt like I was going to throw up. Everything was happening so fast. The world went black.

I woke up in a sterile white room that stunk of anti septic.

"You're finally awake," a familiar voice said from the other side of the room. I looked over to find Calum sitting in a rigid plastic chair.

"What happened?" I asked groggily.

"Too much caffeine. It made you feel nauseous and you passed out."

"Damn late night Red Bulls!" I joke. Calum sat solemnly.

"Are we going to talk about before?"

"There's nothing to talk about," I said, rolling over so I wasn't facing Calum.

I could hear him get to his feet and walk over to the bed. "Really? You're going to pretend like nothing's happened?"

"Are we really going to talk about this whilst I'm in hospital?"

"It's actually the sick bay," Calum replied. Damn. There goes my argument. "So are we going to talk or not?"

"What do you want me to say Calum?" I snapped, finally turning to face him.

"I want to know what's going on here!" he yelled.

"Why? Why do you want to know?"

"Because I deserve to know!"

"What so you deserve to know every part of my life story? You deserve to know that my dad is an asshole. You deserve to know that my brothers deserted me. And now you deserve to know that I'm dyslexic."

Calum was stunned.

"Is that better?" I spat. "You know how messed up my life is now. Are you happy?"

"Hazel... I'm so sorry," he whispered.

"Yeah, well tell someone who cares."

I stormed out of the sick bay and slammed the door. I didn't dare look back at Calum because I knew that it would tear my heart out.
