The car ride was silent. I could just make out the soft humming of the radio. It was Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran. I sat in the backseat by myself (Luke had called shot gun) and I stared out the window. I watched dark shadows go by as we sped past them. I rolled my window down and the cold wind flooded into the car. I put my head out of the window and slowly moved the rest of my body out into the dark abyss that was the night.

"Hazel, what the hell are you doing?" Michael asked, trying to drive and make sure I was okay at the same time.

"Don't worry about me, just drive," I assured him, pushing myself further out of the window. I was up to my waist just hanging out of it. My hair billowed in the fresh wionds and I felt free. For the first time in weeks in had felt truly free. It was as if I was flying, with nothing or no one to tie my down. I closed my eys and enjoyed the ride. The car slowed down and the wind no longer brushed my face. I opened my eyes. We had pulled over on the side of the road.

"What the hell are you doing?" Michael yelled, slamming his car door. Luke stirred in his sleep. Michale came over to my door and opened, leave me to climb out of the window by myself.

"I'm doing what I want because it's a free country," I said, suddenly bitter.

"Are you kidding me?" Michael rubbed a hand through his hair. "What would've happened if a truck drove past? You could've been hurt! Or even worse killed!"

"You say that like it's a bad thing..." I muttered.

Michael's face dropped. "What's that supposed to mean?"

I shrugged.

"Hazel, it would be a bad thing if we lost you. You're one of my best friends. I don't think I'd handle it very well."

"That's you."

"I'm one hundered percent sure that the other boys and Yasmin would feel exactly the same way."

I scoffed. "Yeah but maybe not Calum."

Michael's brow furrowed. I could see the question in his eyes.

"It's a long story," I said.

"I don't care. You're going to tell me."

No matter how much I tried to get out of it, Michale insisted that I told him everything. So I did. It felt kind of odd. Michael was always one of my best friends but he was always one of those mates who you had a laugh with not one that you had deep and meaningful conversations with. I was surprised though. He didn't laugh at anything, he didn't even smirk. He was really serious about it all. I told him almost everyting. Not about my brothers of course but mainly what had happened between me and Calum. I skipped around the dyselxia part although I could see from Michael's face that he didn't quite understand why we fought.

"And then he said 'We're just friends right?' and he just looked at me like he was mocking me..." I finished the story.

Michael just looked at me for a while before he spoke. "Are you sure he wasn't drunk? Because that doesn't sound like Calum at all."

"I didn't exactly stay around him long enough to find out whether he'd been drinking or not."

"And what exactly did the girl look like?"

"Blonde hair about down to here," I motioned to my hips. "Short black dress and... make up. Lots and lots of makeup."

"That sounds like Jessica..." Michael trailed off.

"Jessica?"

"Yeah she went to Calums old school, my school. She's a bit of a Wet Lindsay if you know what I mean."

"Wet Lindsay?"

Michael's mouth dropped. "From Angus, Thongs, And Perfect Snogging! God and you call yourself a girl," he tutted.

I smiloed and shook my head. "Anyway I get where your going. You mean she's like a bit of a slag?"

"Exactly. So I wouldn't worry too much about her. She actually has a boyfriend too. Dave. He's on the football team."

"Oh, how clichè," I laughed.

"It is, isn't it? But like I said, don't worry about her. And I'll have a talk to Calum for you."

"NO!" I blurted. "I'm a big girl I can handle myself."

Michael raised his eyebrow suspiciously. "Are you sure?"

I nodded. Michael sighed.

"Alright, let's go then. The others are probably back at mine."

We both hopped back into the car, careful not to wake Luke. The silence settled again and the only sound to be heard was the soft hum of tyres on the tarmac.

A/N: Hey! So the main point of this chapter was to feature one of the other boys because it mainly just features Calum you know? But did you guys like that? Like the other boys being more of main roles? Sorry that I haven't been updating as regularly as before. It's just things have started to get busy again now! Sorry! And as per usual, tell me what you lied and what you didn't! And yeah thanks for reading :)
