Sam gave Carly a big hug, holding her in her embrace, "Promise me, the distance won't change our friendship the way it
did;" Sam let Carly go from the hug and Carly put her hands on Sam's shoulders, letting them run down her arms until she entangled her fingers with Sam's. "Re-strengthening our friendship this week made me realize how distant we got. We started growing apart and I don't want the flow of communication to stop between us the way we let it. I don't want Italy to come between us again. Promise me you'll PearFace with me at least once a week." Carly said giving Sam's hands a squeeze. Sam squeezed Carly's hands back. "I promise."

Both girls were interrupted by the boarding announcements. "Aloft Airlines, flight number 137 to Rome, Italy, Zone 1 now boarding."

"That's me." Carly said looking at Sam, engulfing her in another hug. "I love you, Sam." Carly said. "I love you, too." Sam said as she nuzzled in the crook of Carly's neck before letting go. "I'm going to miss you." Carly said holding Sam in her arms. "I'm going to miss you too." Sam said as she got out of Carly's embrace. Freddie stepped close to Carly to engulf her in a big hug. "Thank you for making this trip possible Freddie, you're amazing, and I'm so lucky to have you as a friend. ...I'm going to miss you." Carly said. "I'm going to miss you too... And, it was no problem at all, you know I'll always be here for you." Freddie said. They got out the embrace and Carly gave Freddie and nose kiss. Freddie gave Carly a kiss on the check and Carly grabbed her carry-on as she made her way to the gate waving at both Sam and Freddie.

Once Carly was at the gate, both Sam and Freddie made their way to the domestic side of the airport. Once they reached their gate number Freddie and Sam sat down. "So, what are you going to do when you get back?" Sam asked. "Probably going to sleep after pulling this all nighter. Also, catch up on homework for the week while I do this week's homework." Freddie answered sincerely. "You're such a nub." Sam laughed said rolling her eyes. "So, what's going to happen with us?" Freddie asked.

Sam took a deep breath and exhaled knowing it was time to talk about the conversation she had been dreading. "Look, You, Carly, and I made pact to not keep secrets from one another and that requires honesty. So, in honour of that promise, I'm only gonna say this once. I think us seeing each other after the way I left Seattle, made some feelings resurface. Especially seeing each other with other people. Seeing you hurt, really hurt me because despite us having history, I grew to love you and care about you as a friend. I know I said in the past that if we'd change we could give it a shot, but being realistic, I don't think you and I would work out. I'm a misfit, and you're a nerd, and although it usually works in movies, realistically, I'd get really annoyed with your smart tech talk, and hobbies, and you probably wouldn't be down for all the reckless spontaneous things I do. I know that we had a slip up, but it was a stress reliever on my end. You're one of my best friends, someone I know I can count on. Nothing more, nothing less. And, I want to thank you for being here with me and for everything you've done. Thank you. You're a really great guy." Sam said perching her lips at the feeling of vulnerability, having been this honest. Something she's not accustomed too.

Freddie stared at Sam, feeling proud at her maturity and grateful for her honesty. "Thank you. I think I really needed to hear that. I guess hearing you had gotten into an accident was a my version of a repeat when Carly gained feelings for me after I pushed her out of the way and I got hit with the taco truck. Then, seeing you again and seeing how LA has done you so good, I mean look at you, you've blossomed beautifully." Freddie said motioning his hands towards Sam from top to bottom. "At that, my feelings resurfaced, but that day meeting Cat was also really great. Although I was used, she made me feel so desired, wanted, and taken care of. But then hearing your words in that argument you had with her I guess lit me up with hope like a doofus. When the accident happened...unfolding in front of me...I was really scared you'd gotten hurt and I even told you my worries before the jump. Somehow, my feelings of worry got mixed with my previous feelings for you and I really wanted to get back together. Being honest, I never wanted to break up with you and deep down I think you knew that too. Especially because the day you left I was going to ask you if you wanted to get back together with me but before I could say the words you cut me off you and next thing I knew, after we all said goodbye to Carly, you were gone." Sam lowered her head at Freddie's words. "Now, everything's changed. See, At first when I was still recovering, my feeling remained, but this week just left me with doubts and confusion to what I want in life." Freddie chuckled and Sam remained enigmatic.
