Chapter 1

Forgotten..

My eyes open as i hear the annoying beeping of my alarm. I turn it off then roll back over pulling the covers over my face. Today is my first day going to college and to be honest.. i know I'm going to hate it.

When I feel myself falling asleep again I decide to get up and take a shower. The hot water feels nice against my tense muscles.

"What to do with this mop"

I say to myself referring to my hair. I put on my dark blue skinny jeans and a red plaid shirt. After i walk into the bathroom and start on my hair. First I blow dry it, then straighten it. I feel satisfied so I move onto my make up. I put on my usual make up black eyeliner with some brown eyeshadow to compliment my dark brown eyes.

I look at my clock 6:45. That gives me a good two hours to be on campus. I decide to go wake my mom up and say goodbye. Shes had it rough lately I mean with her and dad divorcing and my older brother, Cameron, ditching her as well, now I'm leaving her.

"Mom?" I whispered through the crack of the door.

I saw the blankets rustle so I walked in. I laid beside her and ran my fingers through her hair.

"Mom I'm going now" I whispered. "I love you and ill call as soon as I get my dorm"

She turned to face me.

"My baby girl" she lifted her finger to my face pulling a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Growing up so fast, I love you
Dani" she was fighting tears.

"Ill call you everyday I promise" I kissed her forehead then gave her a huge hug and I was off.

I got into my 67 impala and started my two hour journey to hell. I didn't want to leave my mom shes been abandoned by to many people already, but I need to go to college.

After a few pit stops I finally arrive at Green Bay College. Its packed. I hurriedly parked my car in the closest empty stall then run to the check in line.

"Next!" the man at the table yells. I walk up to him.

"Um hi I am a new student here" I say sweet and calmly.

"Name" he doesn't look up from his paper.

"Daneel Chambers" I say watching him look for my name.

"Ah here yeah are room 341" he hands me a key an shoos me away.

I start walking, following the map of course, and eventually find my room. Of course my roommate beat me there.

"Hi hi hi!" she boomed "I'm Courtney, your new best buddy" she is really enthusiastic.

I giggle at how happy she is.
"Hi I'm Daneel, but friends call me Dani" I said smiling. I put my bags down by my bed and sat on it.

"So where yeah from?" Courtney asked me closing the door.

"Two hours north" I say examining our somewhat huge dorm.

"Fun! I'm from New York" she winks, I smile at her.
"You party much?" she asked randomly.

"Well it dep-"

I was interrupted by a loud knock on the door.

"Got it!" Courtney said as she ran to the door. She opened it revealing a large dark haired boy about 6'5.
"Jared!" Courtney boomed hugging the guy.
"Come in come in, Dani meet Jared, Jared my new roommate Dani" she smiled.

"Hi" I waved smiling.

He smile back "Hi I'm Courtney's boyfriend" his voice was soft and calm.

"I was just asking Dani if she wanted to come to the party tonight" Courtney explained.

I looked up at her like a lost puppy. What? She asked if I liked parties. What am I going to wear? Who will be there?

"Oh and you said what?" Jared asked.

"Sure why not" I smiled wearily.

"Sweet Ill pick you guys up and 7?" he asked.

"Sound great!" Courtney said before kissing his lips and pushing him out the door.
"ah I love that boy"
She smiled blushing a little.

"Well now I have to find the perfect thing to wear for tonight" I said getting of off my bed and picking up one of my three suitcases.

"I can lend you something i you want" Courtney said opening her closet door revealing a rack of dresses.

I walked up to it.
"Holy shit you like dresses"
She giggled.

I started to rummage through the hangers. There was blue dresses, red dresses, white dresses, and my favourite black ones. I found a nice black dress with a see through strip below the breast.

"I'm in love" I said hugging the dress.

Courtney laughed.
"I guess you found one?" she asked

I smiled and nodded.
"Its only 2:00, what are we supposed to do till 7:00?" I asked laying the dress down on my bed.

"I could give you a tour of the school if you want?" Courtney asked.

"Yeah! sounds great" I smiled grabbing my bag.
