Authors Note: You have waited, begged, and hoped for this sequel long enough. I present to you the second installment of Kat's journey to self discovery and love that comes once in a lifetime. Enjoy!
Cold rain came pouring down in buckets making this suppose to be joyful day seem gloomy. The atmosphere had this horrible feeling as if something terrible was coming.
Kat stood there next to her best friend Elizabeth getting soaked in the rain. Her black curly hair became wet and stringy as it clung to the sides of her face. The light pink gown she was wearing now weighed her down. Thank God she only turned in to a mermaid by sea and not rain water or else she would be in a lot of trouble.
Everything about this day was wrong.
"Will," Elizabeth breathed as she ran up to him,"Why is this happening?"
Kat turned around and saw her other best friend William Turner cuffed and held by soldiers.
"I don't know," Will told Elizabeth, not having any idea as well to what was going one, as she sniffled in sadness that their wedding day was ruined. "You look beautiful," he told her.
"I think it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding," she said sadly. It seemed like from here things could only get worse. Kat's heart broke in two at the sight of them. Whoever was responsible for this would get a mouthful from her.
"Make way! let me through!" Governor Swann shouted as he pushed his way through the crowd in an attempt to get closer to the three but he was stopped by the soldiers. "How dare you!" He shouted appalled at the action. Who in the world would think that they had the authority to come barging in on his daughter's wedding! "Stand your men down at once! Do you hear me?"
"Governor Weatherby Swann, its been too long." A sly voice came from behind the soldiers. A man with a white George Washington looking wig made his way through the soldiers.
"Cutler Beckett. I should have known." Kat murmured angrily. There were very few people she legitimately hated and Cutler Beckett was one of the few. Never had she met a man so cold and merciless in her life. She had ran in to him a few times at parties but made absolutely sure to stay away from him.
"It's Lord now, Ms. Williams." Beckett corrected Kat as he heard his name pass through her lips.
"Under what authority and purpose do you have to arrest this man?" Kat asked sharply gaining a grateful smile from Elizabeth.
"Ah yes, Mr. Mercer," Beckett said referring to the man next to him. "The warrant for the arrest of one William Turner," he said before handing it over to Governor Swann.
The Governor looked down at the paper an expression of disbelief on his face. "This is a warrant for Elizabeth Swann," he said his voice slightly cracking.
"Oh is it? That's annoying, my mistake," Backett said as he took the paper back. "Arrest her."
"On what charges," Elizabeth screamed as the soldiers grabbed her as well. Will struggled against the chains and soldiers that held him as he tried to get closer to Elizabeth. He loudly cried, "No!"
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Kat yelled as she attempted to reach Elizabeth.
Aha here's the one for William Turner," Beckett said handing Governor Swann another paper, "And I have another one for a Mr. James Norrington. Is he present?"
"Commodore Norrington," the Governor said, correcting the title like Beckett had done before with his own title, "resigned his commission some months ago."
"I don't believe that was the answer to the question I asked," Beckett responded.
"Well you haven't answered any of our questions. Tough luck." Kat sneered.
"What are we charged with," Elizabeth asked again.
"Lord Beckett, in the category of questions not answered," Will said but it seemed as if Lord Beckett wasn't listening.
Elizabeth spoke again this time hardly, "We are under the jurisdiction of the King's governor of Port Royal. And you will tell us what we are charged with."
"The charge...," Governor Swann said looking at the warrant, reading from it, again not wanting to believe anything that was happening,"is conspiring to set free a man convicted of crimes against the Crown and Empire and condemned to death for which the... "
"For which the punishment, regrettably, is also death." Beckett finished for him. Stepping forward closer to Kat, Beckett said, "Perhaps you remember a certain pirate named Jack Sparrow."
Kat nearly threw up hearing the name. She had missed him so much and hadn't seen him since the day on the forts. Just hearing the pirates name brought all her emotions back.
"Captain!" The three friends yelled together, quickly correcting Beckett.
"Captain Jack Sparrow, yea I thought you might be familiar." He looked at his men, "take these three away."
"Excuse me but I was never put under arrest therefore I'm not going with you." Kat said ripping away from the soldiers hands.
"Well that's even more annoying, arrest Katherine Williams under the same charge." He said smugly before winking at her. The three were locked away in the cellar and that was the end to what was supposed to be the happiest day in Elizabeth Swann's life.
