Kat woke up and her head immediately began throbbing. What the bloody hell happened to me? Okay, think Kat! You went with Will and you found Jack on an island. But of course, in true Jack Sparrow fashion he couldn't land on any ordinary island. No. He had to land on bloody Cannibal Island! He was the king or something and then he told me he was sorry and then-"Holy shit.
"Jack Sparrow did you bash me in the head with bamboo?" Kat shrieked and shot right up. Pleasantly surprised to be on the deck of the Black Pearl surrounded by familiar faces.
"Oh dearey keep me away from the emotional mermaid, Gibbs." Jack said loosely as he went behind the wheel.
Gibbs knelt downs to Kat and helped her back. "Good to see you again lass." He smiled.
Kat sent a hard glare towards Jack before looking towards Gibbs. "Good to see you too." She gave him a hug and breathed in the familiar scent of rum and sea salt. That's what all pirated reeked of, including Jack. "W-where's Will?" She pulled away and looked around somewhat panicked. God forbid he got hurt or left behind.
Two hands on her waist shook her out of panic because there was William Turner in all of his handsome glory. "Right behind you, Kitten." The best friends embraced each other.
"I mean it Will," she muffled in to his shirt, "This is the last time I do anything like this with you." They both laughed.
A throat being cleared interrupted the reunion. "Let's not get too comfortable now." The discomfort and jealously in Jack's tone was evident. "What was it you came to see me about? Oh right a certain Elizabeth Swann?"
Will's demeanor changed upon hearing his loves name. He pulled himself away from Kat and went to Jack. "Yes, she's in danger."
"Have you considered keeping a more watchful eye on her? Maybe lock her up somewhere?" Jack kept his stare forward towards the sea. He was clearly more relaxed now that the blacksmith had gotten his grimy hands off of his lass. My lass? The thought shook him at his core. Kat being around him was enough to get her killed by his many enemies but now that he had more of an attachment to her, she could be used as his weakness. What could be the consequence to these feelings? Consequences? I'm Captain Jack Sparrow. When have I ever thought about the consequences of anything? I don't. Jack happily shrugged. He'd think about this 'issue' when it became a problem.
"Jack, she's locked up. In prison." Kat came to his other side while he stood at the wheel. "Bound to hang for helping you."
"Hmm well, this sounds more of a William Turner problem and not so much a Captain Jack Sparrow problem." Jack gave a glance at the two nuisances. "There comes a time in all of our lives where one must take responsibility for one's mistake."
"How dare you." Will's eyes flashed with anger as his grip on deck's fence tightened. Whitening his knuckles.
Jack took his hands off of the wheel and stepped aside, allowing Gibbs to take over. He looked at Will nonchalantly. "Truly mate, in all honesty the only persons safety in which I care for is Ms. Williams who, is standing here to my left." He motioned to her much to Kat's surprise. "As far as I can see she is safe and my conscience is clear."
Before Will could open his mouth to coax Jack, Kat stepped in. "Quite the contrary Jack, I'm not safe and neither is Will. Those two face the noose and I face something possibly worse."
Jack tried not to let his concern show as he zeroed in on Kat, putting his back towards William. "Care to share would could be more threatening than the noose for you?"
"Help us free Elizabeth and hopefully you'll never come to know what awaits me if I return empty handed." The raven-haired girl said without breaking eye contact. Jack wasn't ready to hear her punishment. If he cared for her as much as he seemed to then he wouldn't take the information well. He'd be distracted and that was something neither Will nor Kat could afford. "We have to trade your compass for her freedom."
Jack huffed in anger, "So be it KatFish. Gibbs!" He called his right hand man over. "We have a need to travel up river." Gibbs looked frightened by these orders.
Gibbs began to chew on the inside of his cheek, "By need, do you mean a trifling need? Fleeting? As in, say, a passing fancy?"
"No, a resolute and unyielding need."
Will walked around to the front of the Captain, "We need to make haste and set sail to Port Royal."
"William I will trade you my compass if you help me find this," He pulled out a worn out piece of cloth from his coat. On it was the image of a key and Jack smiled his very immature and charming smile.
"You want me and Kat to find this?" Will looked over the image very confused.
"No," Jack looked between the two friends, "You want you and Kat to find this. Because the finding of this finds you capacity of finding and/or locating in discovering the detecting of a way to save your dolly belle ol' what's her face."
With disbelief Kat shook her head not really understanding Jack at all. "This stupid key is going to save Elizabeth?"
Jack wrapped his arm around Kat's waist. "How much do you two know about Davy Jones?" Jack kept shooting fleeting glances at both Kat and Will.
"Not much," Will answered truthfully. Kat shook her head no to Jack's question.
Jack planted a kiss on the top of the shorter girls head and smirked. "Yeah, that's going to save Elizabeth."
