Chapter 6

It's been two years since and I still haven't heard from Luke. I call him and straight to voicemail.

Jessica - Brother. I miss you. Please answer me. I know you open these voice mails because it would have run out of space, already. Luke, please. Why do I even bother trying?

Percy - Hey.

I hang up and look at Percy.

Jessica - What's up?

Percy - Who was that?

Jessica - Random number.

Percy - To answering "Why do I bother trying"?

I sigh closing my eyes.

Percy - Hey, it's fine. I get it. You miss him.

Jessica - He's a jerk. A horrible brother! I don't know why he won't ever answer!

Percy - Hey. Hey.

Jessica - I gotta go.

Percy - Jessica. Cas. Wait. Stop. Jessica.

He calls me but I continued walking and run into Chris.

Chris - Hey you.

Jessica - Hey.

Chris - What's up?

Jessica - I wanna leave.

Chris walked and shakes his head.

Jessica - Chris. I know you leave the camp.

Chris - I don't know what you're talking about, Jess.

Jessica - Chris, please!

I stop him by pulling on his arm as people passed by.

Chris - Why do you want to go, huh?

Jessica - To find my brother.

Chris - How are you gonna find him, Jessie? Hmm. How?

Jessica - Fine then. I'll find him myself.

I walk away from him.

Chris - Hey.

He goes in front of me.

Chris - I didn't mean for it to come off that way. I'm sorry, look. I just don't want you wasting your time on looking for him when you're not going to find him.

Jessica - What. You don't think I can find him?

Chris - Yes, I do.

Jessica - But what.

Chris - If he doesn't want to talk to you then he doesn't want to. Just forget about him, Jess.

Jessica - How would you know if he doesn't want to see me?

Chris - ...

Jessica - You've talked to him. Haven't you?

I stepped back as he reaches for my hands but I push his arms away.

Chris - No, I haven't.

Jessica - Why are you lying?

Chris - I don't want to argue with you.

Jessica - Nor do I. Chris.

I whine his name softly.

Jessica - I just want to see him. That's all.

Chris - I don't know where he is. You have to believe me.

Jessica - So, if I asked for your phone you'd give me your phone.
