005: CHIAN'S POV

I was few rooms away from the clinic when I saw a girl na lumabas and tumakbo na parang ninja. I hurriedly walked papunta sa clinic and looked for Melody agad

"Aww sayang hindi mo naabutan si Caren" she said

"Caren?"

"Remember? Yung girl na natapunan ng iced coffee tapos pinaheram ko ng shirt"

"Ahh" I replied "siya ata yung nakita ko na parang ninja? Ninja ba siya?" I asked

"What?" she laughed "nagmamadali yon gawa nung friend niya, naiwan daw report sa dorm pati susi naiwan sa loob"

"Oh, I see. Anyway, where's Paul? Saka..." I looked around "nasan si nurse?"

"May kukunin lang daw siya e. Paul is buying food, nagutom ako e"

"oh, I see" I replied

"Thank you kasi pinuntahan mo ako dito" she suddenly said

"Oo naman. Why would you think na hindi ko aalamin kalagayan mo?"

"Well, baka you have bad feelings for me or something"

"Melody, we're friends. Just because you dumped me eh hindi naman ibig sabihin na we can't be friends"

"Well, as far as I know, yung iba will stop seeing the girl na nagdump sa kanila"

"Hindi naman ako iba"

"I know. I'm glad you still care for me"

"Given na I still care for you" I said "we've been through a lot and hindi ko naman basta pwede itapon lahat ng yon"

"And I'm sorry for dumping you, if I could only turn back time" she said and medyo teary eyes na

"It's okay. I'm glad that you dumped me and I realized, I think we are better off as friends, mas magtatagal tayo don e"

"So, how about yung girl na gusto mo? You think magtatagal kayo as lovers?"

"How can I say? Hindi naman kami" I said "and hindi ko pa siya namemeet ulit since the vacation"

"See? Ngayon pa lang wala na siyang time for you" she said

"Not like that, we really don't have any means of communication. As much as I wanted to look for her, I don't know where to start"

"Weird" she said "you said she likes you pero wala kayong communication? Sigurado ka bang tao yung nakasama mo?"

I laughed "oo, or baka alien siya"

"Alien?" she said and we both laughed "ang weird niyang alien"

"Maybe we are just having fun together, so much na nakalimutan namin na may ending pala and at the same time, nakalimutan rin namin magexchange ng mobile numbers"

"What's her name?"

"Steph, Stephanie"

"I see" she said and looked at me "since this is the case, I guess mas lamang ako sa kanya"

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Kasi I'm here with you" I just looked at her "and I think that's the best thing diba?"

"Because we are friends Mel, that's why"

"Don't shove it to my throat, I already know that" she said then she looked away from me

"I thought you understand that I don't like you the same way. I'm being honest right here, really"

"Well, I hope you will understand that I like you as a man and not as a friend. Ano bang mahirap maintindihan don?"

"Gusto ko ring itanong yan sayo. Why do we need to have this set up? I don't wanna hurt you kaya sinasabi ko na sayo to, please, Melody. Stop this mess"

"Then come back to me, be mine, ligawan mo ulit ako and I will stop"

"You are just hurting yourself"

"As long as I can see that you still care for me, I will not stop"

"Sa tingin mo ba I will stop caring for you? Or gusto mo ba gawin ko na?" I asked and she just looked at me, namumuo na yung luha sa gilid ng mga mata niya then she suddenly looked away "if you are always like this, maybe I should stop caring for you and maybe it's about time na we stop talking to each other para you can move on" I said

Wala siyang sinabi and I heard her sniffed. What can I do? Sinabi ko na diba? Anong mahirap intindihin sa I like someone else? Mali ba yung I want her as a friend? Hindi ba mas okay isipin na ayaw ko rin naman siyang mawala? I can love her as a friend pero hanggang don na lang yung kaya kong ibigay.

"If you're being like this, aalis na muna ako. I think you will feel bad lalo if nandito ako" I said and stood, I was about to take a step away but stopped because she pulled my right arm

"Don't leave me" she said "stay with me, here" she added

I looked at her and she's crying. The same eyes na nagparealize sa akin before that I should protect her. The same weak eyes na nagbigay sa akin ng dahilan to stay by her side. It's all the same, pero yung nararamdaman ko is different from before. I want to stay with her because I am her friend and I really care for her

"Stop crying" I said "I will stay so stop crying"

She nodded and wiped her tears. I sat again on the chair beside the bed

"Please know that I will not stop until balikan mo ako. I know you still have feelings for me, sinasabi mo lang lahat to para makaganti sa akin" she looked at me with her fierce eyes "it will not work, Christian"

I sighed as a sign of defeat "stop hurting yourself"

"You can't stop me" she said and looked away from me
