I lead the way to the cells, ripping the door opening and colliding into someones back. Claire caught me before I could fall, and I looked up to see a relieved Leon.

"Lara! Claire! You're alright!" he beamed, also steadying me. "Good to see you too, Leon," Claire greeted, smiling.

"Did you get the part?" I asked, looking over his bloody uniform, thankfully none of it his.

"Yeah, you?" he asked, holding it up. "Yeah, gimmie," I ordered, holding out my palm.

He did was he was told, and I went to work trying to fix the circuit breaker, as Leon and Claire talked.

As I put the right wire into place, the breaker pinged, and the door to the cage slid open.

"Bingo," I said, turning around to see Leon already inside the cell, Claire inspecting poor Ben's body.

Leon picked up a note on the table and read it out loud.

"The stations swimming with monsters. Even here, I can hear their cries. But it's not the zombies I'm afraid of. Codename: Tyrant. The ultimate bioweapon, developed by those bastards in the utmost secrecy. To think that that thing might be wandering around here. Chances are they've ordered it to wipe out the witnesses," Leon read.

"Well, that explains why Fedoras been chasing Claire and me," I mumbled as Claire took the key card from Bens corpse.

"Huh? What's this?" she mumbled, pulling a tape recorder out of his jacket pocket.

"A tape recorder? Do you think it'll give some answers on what's going on?" I asked, walking over to stand next to Claire, who was still crouched.

"Maybe, let's see," she said, pressing play.

"But that doesn't explain the rumors about the orphanage," Bens recorded voice said.

It was hard to hear, so I squatted down and lowered my head, so my ear was near the speaker.

"I just find it way too coincidental Umbrella's one of the benefactors." Umbrella? The pharmaceutical Jen told me about?

"You told me this interview was about the new scholarship Umbrella set up." A woman said, anger evident in her voice.

"Come on, Annette. Nobody cares about that. They want to know about the G-virus, and the" He was interrupted by Annette.

"Where did you hear about this"

"and that big fucking sinkhole in the city, which by the way, rumor has it goes straight to your underground lab," Ben continued, completely ignoring Annette's question.

We all exchanged glances at that. Underground lab? What the hell was going on? What's a G-virus? Is that what turned everyone into these monsters?

"Now, are you going to talk to me or are you-"

"This interview is over' Annette snapped.

"Bitch," Ben said before turning off the tape.

"Well, that's a lot to take in," I said, still processing the new info.

Someone purposely made this virus. Why would anyone do such a horrible thing? These people had lives, families. They didn't deserve that.

"Come on, we got what we needed. Let's go get Sherry," I said, standing up and leaving the cell. Since I fixed the circuits, all the lights in this part of the building were on, illuminating the halls.

I turned the corner coming to face a horde of zombies that weren't there before. All the cells to the jails were opened. I didn't even think about that. I ducked back around the corner, thankfully none of them saw me.
