Claire and I jogged the stranded streets of Raccoon City looking for the Orphanage. Taking out any zombies that came our way, even dogs were affected by this outbreak, the poor things. It killed me to put them down, hearing their pained cries. I felt horrible.

We came to a stop at a blockage; a bus had crashed completely blocking our path to the other side. Thankfully the door was open, giving us access to walk through the bus to the other side if we used the emergency exit toward the back. I climbed in first, anxious to get to the Orphanage.

The bus was dark, but with Claire's light, it was easy to see the zombies resting inside. We quickly put them out of there misery when one grabbed Claire's ankle. She cried out as I stomped on its head, a sickening crunch filling the bus as its skull cracked.

Blood and brain matter stuck to my shoe as Claire yanked free her ankle. "Gross," she commented as I wiped my shoe on the floor, groaning in disgust as well.

"Thank you," she said as we exited the bus. I nodded my head as a welcome, still too angry to speak. I'm not sure why I cared so much about Leon going with the agent.

Granted, we barely knew Sherry, yet here I was risking my life for her. But then again, Sherrys just a kid, Adas a grown adult who clearly, hates working with people, seeing she gets annoyed at everyone who looks her way.

"Lara, I found it!" Claire said, pulling me from thoughts. I looked up to see her pointing towards a green gate; rainbow letters spelled out Raccoon Orphanage, painting of a blue raccoon, and what looked like a giraffe on the entrance.

We ran in, Claire locking the gate shut. We walk into the waiting room, a puzzle patterned rug in the middle littered with toys. "Sherry!" I called out, hoping for an answer.

I turned down the first hallway I saw, Claire right behind me. "Hello? I have the pendant," I continued when no one answered. Rounding the corner, Irons crashed into me.

I yelped in shock as he clutched me with a bloody fist, the left side of his face covered in blood. "Your fault," he stuttered, voice laced with pain as he struggled to stay upright. "What?" I asked, confused about how this was my fault.

"Took to long," he continued clutching his stomach while I struggled to get him off me. An odd squirming sound emitted from his stomach, almost as if something was trying to bust free.

"Oh god," he cried, with Claire's help, I pushed him off me. He landed on his knees, screaming in pain as something busted out of his chest, coating me in Irons's blood.

Gasping, I wiped the blood off my face, feeling Claire grip onto me in fear. Whatever that thing was, it disappeared, as Irons slumped over dead.

"Jesus Christ," she shivered, her grip on me tightening. I carefully stepped over Irons, afraid he'd spring back up to try and kill me, but he didn't.

"Sherry!" I called out, anxious to find her. I hoped Sherry doesn't share the same fate as that pig. The door leads into a private office, it was a mess, whatever attack Irons, the fight must've happened here. I took out my SMG as I searched the room for Sherry.

"Lara over here," Claire called out from behind a hanging sheet. "What is it?" I asked, moving the curtain out of the way. The floorboards were ripped up, exposing an underground passageway.

Without thinking, I jumped down, Claire not questioning my actions and following.

"Sherry? Where are you?" I called out again, praying for an answer. My shoes squeaked against the wooden stairs when I heard a frightened voice answer me.

"Lara!"

"Sherry! We'll be right there!" I yelled, spotting her down the hall, separated by a chained fence. "You're okay!" I beamed heading over to the break in the fence, she ran over and hugged my torso, burying her face into my side.

"Thank you for coming to get me," she cried, shifting to look up at me. "I would never leave you," I answered, resting a comforting hand on her head.

"Sherry, this is my friend Claire," I said, introducing the two. Sherry looked over to Claire, smiling.

"Hi, Claire," she greeted shyly.

"Hello Sherry, it's nice to meet you," Claire replied, crouching down to Sherry's height with a smile.

A raucous pair of footsteps sounded down the hall where Claire and I originated from. Looking up, I saw the Tyrant from before.

"How the fuck?" I muttered, wondering how on earth it found us. Sherry shrieked, seeing the towering man stalk towards us.

"Run," Claire yelled, standing up as I motioned Sherry to follow. We ran down the hall, our pace slow so that Sherry could keep up. The Tyrant was catching up quickly, so I scooped Sherry into my arms, who let out a startled shriek.

Not having to worry about her being left behind, I picked up speed catching up to claire who was waiting in the elevator.

Once we cleared the doors, Claire repeated pressed the close doors button as I back up against the wall, Sherrys face buried in my neck, my grip on her tightening in a protective manner.

The gate closed right in its face, its hands gripping the metal bars, prying it apart. The whole elevator shook, and I feared the cables holding us up would break, sending us to our doom. Its ugly stoic face glared into the elevator; when a hand busted out of its chest, splattering blood onto Claire and me.

I jumped back into the wall with a yelp as the mutant from before sliced the Tyrant in half. "Daddy?" Sherry called out, turning her head to look at the mutant.

I looked over to Claire, confused. "What did you say?" I asked, making sure I heard her right.
The mutated man screamed in pain as his infection spread, taking over his face completely. It ripped its arm free of the Tyrant's chest, taking a large chunk of its chest out.

The Tyrant fell to its knees, its grip on the lift disappearing as it keeled over dead. Sherry's dad continued to scream as it mutated before running at us, smashing into the elevator.

"DADDY NO!" Sherry screamed as the lift went flying back into the wall.

The impact sent me reeling back, my head crashing into the metal wall, right before the elevator plummetted.
