We rose up in Anxiety's room and I was immediately hit with a wave of worry.
Patton gasped, "Anx!"
He ran over to where the anxious trait was laying unconscious by the door.
"Lets get him on his bed." Logan instructed.
I rushed over to pick up Anxiety. His arms and legs were transparent. I felt another flash of fear shoot through my body as I layed him on his bed.
"What's happening to him?" Thomas asked.
"He was starting to fade." Logan sighed.
"Fade?" Thomas echoed.
Patton nodded, "it's our version of death. We reform after a few days."
"Usually we fade instantly. I've never seen this before." Logan mumbled the last part.
"What does that mean?" Thomas asked.
It was silent for a moment before I spoke up, "we don't know."
Suddenly, Anxiety gasped, arching his back but still remaining unconscious. Patton rushed over, carding his fingers through Anxiety's hair.
Anxiety clung onto the closest thing to his hands, which just so happened to be my sleeve. His fingers, though nearly invisible, felt solid as ever, which provided me with some comfort. Small whimpers came from Anxiety. It broke my heart.
"What do we do now?" Thomas asked.
"He'll either recover... or fade." Logan answered quietly.
"But if he fades, who knows what will happen!" Patton cried.
"But you said that he'll reform in a few days..." Thomas said, rubbing his hands anxiously.
"Well, Anxiety is different." I explained, "he's already reformed multiple times, to the point where he didn't remember... anything really. We have no idea what will happen if he fades again."
"Oh..." Thomas nodded.
Logan sighed, "we can't stay in here."
"What? why?" Thomas asked.
"Anxiety's room starts affecting us if we stay here too long." Patton said.
"We'll we can't just leave Anx here!" I huffed.
"Then we'll take him outside to the commons." Logan told us, walking over to the door.
The moment the door unlocked, Anxiety screamed.
