"As much as I would love to watch you sleep I have some business to attend to, with your father. He actually seems to be really interested in this festival, I'm assuming because of Clara?" Rone asked snuggling my neck, planting a light kiss in the crook of my neck."My family has always had a soft spot for the humans, especially kids. That's good though, you get to show Lux who you are, and how smart you are," I smiled. He looked perfect as the sun peaked through his satin grey curtains that matched his huge bed.
"Lux found an empty field behind the stables, were going to check it out he thinks it would be a perfect spot. Big enough to have games, dancing, music, everything we talked about. The council might add some things, words getting around people are curious and excited. It's something new," he said. "I feel like I'm still not doing enough though," he sighed running a hand through his curly hair as we sat up in his bed. "We're still trapped, surrounded by those demons."
"You'll be an amazing king, Rone."
His lip twitched and he grinned as he laced a hand through mine, "How do you know?"
"You're different," I said simply. "You have the biggest heart I've ever seen, I know you will always put these people first."
He gulped hard, "As we get closer and closer I dont think that would be the same. I'd put you first every day of every second."
"Well just have to keep that a secret," I kissed him softly, taking him by surprise. "You have to get ready. Lux wrote me hes excited about this festival he wants it to be ready in two weeks," I told him.
"I can pull that off," he shrugged. "We have lots of volunteers, all we really have to do is create and set up. Were going to make a grand stage, when Elijah meet the council he told us of a talent show the humans do in school, to show of your talents. By the way we are both required to be in it by my father," he said.
"Like together?" I asked.
"Cats out of the bag about us everyone's dying to see us together including the council. They almost don't believe it," he laughed, "I guess I don't quiet believe it either," he said studying me. "What is it that makes you even want to be with me?"
I was taken back by the question but I knew how to answer it. Thats one thing I've always been good at. Taking charge, making decisions. "Your heart, your mind I like how you think. I love how you make me laugh because before I didn't laugh much. Being with you has changed me in every positive way possible." I could see the emotions building up in his eyes, the sharp planes of his face as hauntingly beautiful as ever.
"I guess it's just crazy, after everything..." his words staggered a bit. I realized he was talking about his human ex. "You were perfect Nadia, like a living muse saving me in those woods. I carried you, held you the entire time praying to mother Valkri. I prayed for you to live. I prayed to know you, finally get to know you and when I did I was mind blown really," he began to smile, he was deep in thought but still focused on every bit of me. "It's like we needed each other, whether we knew it or not we were going to be important to each other." Hearing those words made my heart melt in ways I've never experienced. I wanted to say it, I love you. But I couldn't and it bothered me... instead I kissed his lips gently hating every bit of the coward I was.
