Ten's POV:
I look out at the city I grew up in and sigh while the others prepared themselves to go back inside.
"Mom, brother, I hope you're okay..." I muttered, thinking I was alone. I stood and turned around only to see Omega right there. I yelled and tripped backwards over my feet. I fell off the roof onto the second floor patio.
"Ow!" I said.
"Oh my God, Ten!" I heard Omega starting to panic.
"I'm fine, I'm alright. Just bruised...and surprised. You scared me!" I said.
"Are you sure you're okay? That looked like it hurt..." Omega said, pointing at me. I looked down at my arm to see it had been impaled by a shard of glass from the table I landed on. I froze for a moment, then looked up and said I was good.
"Don't worry too much...I'm fine."
The others rushed to the edge of the roof to see what was happening. Omega told them what happened and I laugh when I heard someone yell,
"What!? How could you forget how clumsy Ten is!?" I could tell it was Wolf. After a while of Wolf yelling and almost fighting with Omega, they started looking around for a way to get down to me. I looked around to. And right then and there is when I noticed them. On the other side of the glass door that led to the patio, there were zombies pushing and trying to get out and kill me. I yelled and went to the farthest part of the patio from the door.
"What's wrong Ten?" Kiwi asked, looking over the edge of the roof to see the zombies slowly breaking through the glass door. "Uh, guys! We're gonna have to think fast, or Ten's gonna be like a kitten in front of a pack of wolves!!!"
"Hey! Why don't you walk over that arch that connects the patio to the library roof?" Flint said. I gulped as I looked at the arch and climbed over the railing and onto it, almost tripping.
That was close, I think, catching my breath and continuing slowly. I make sure not to look down at how close I am to falling to my death. After I get to the library roof, I collapse, just laying there and staring at the clouds, way up high in the sky, safe from the hell breaking loose here on earth.
"Ten!" I heard. I turned to see my friends running towards me. I didn't even care how they got down. Omega hugged me right, apologizing over and over. I pulled away in pain from my arm.
"Wait...it looks like your cut was healed and open again!" Kiwi said.
I glanced at my arm to see what looked like scarred skin around my fresh cut.
"Huh...you're right...weird." I said. "Well it can't be a bad thing."~ ~ ~
After we figured out how to get down, we discussed our plan. We eventually decided that Kiwi, Flint and I would walk to riverside, which is across the bridge, while Aly, Wolf and Omega would go to Super A, in the opposite direction. I put my backpack on my shoulder and said let's go to Kiwi and Flint.
"Hey, I can carry that if you want Ten." Kiwi said.
"No, no, I'm all good." I said looking away. After a few minutes, us three made it to the bridge. Kiwi and Flint were ahead of me talking, and I looked over the rail to see fish in the river. As I daydreamed about what it would be like to be a fish, I heard the sound of someone getting punched in the arm.
"Aack!! What was that for!?" I heard Flint yell.
"Don't you DARE think that way!! We will survive!" Kiwi said. I watched them, Kiwi holding Flint's shirt in her fist. He put his hands up.
"It was just a thought..."
I snickered and ran up to them.
"So, what are you lovebirds talking about?" I said, laughing as Kiwi punched my stomach.
"Guys, stop, we're almost there..." Flint said, blushing slightly. After a bit longer, we arrived at riverside to see the door completely gone.
"Wow...I wonder what happened here..." Kiwi said.
"It doesn't matter. I don't really care right now. Let's just get what we can." I said, walking in without a care in the world. Minutes passed and I kept putting food, water and snacks in my backpack, Kiwi and Flint putting stuff in their's too. "Should we head upstairs now?" I asked, than went down another aisle.
"I don't know, what if there're zombies up there?" Flint asked.
"Oh, stop being such a baby." I heard Kiwi reply. I grabbed a few more thing, then headed back to where they had been. They weren't there.
"Now where have they gone!" I muttered to myself and started looking down the aisles.
