Chapter 6 - When evening comes
His brother? I sit there and wonder as Tyler leaves the room again. I wait a few minutes and start hearing voices in the kitchen. Tyler sounds relaxed and happy. I slip out the living room and peak through the door. Tyler and a figure are sitting at the kitchen table having a drink, as George is preparing some food. He smiles and talks to him, and he looks almost like a child.
I hold my breath not to be heard and slip back to the living room. I sit down on the couch pulling my feet up. It's 9:30 but I still feel really tired. I rest my head against the lush pillow and close my eyes. I breathe out softly, hearing the muted voices and laughter through the wall. My foot still hurts a lot but I don't move. I don't have any energy left and I slip into a deep sleep.
When I wake up I look sleepily at the clock. I've slept the whole day, it's almost 5. I move a little and try to stretch but there's something blocking my feet. Something warm. My body whips itself into an upright position, and I see a man sitting in from of me. He's gorgeous, almost as hot as Tyler. He has the same dark hair and eyes. He's grinning at me, and lays his hand on my leg.
"I didn't know Tyler brought girls to our lake house." He says, his hand moving over my leg. i don't know what to say to him, so I just keep quiet. He smiles at me, and I just want to hide. Suddenly I pull my leg away from him and sit up.
"How long have you been sitting here?" I ask, but don't wait for an answer. "Where is Tyler?" I say and stand up. As soon as my feet touch the ground a pain shoots through my body. I cry out and I feel my head twirl from the pain as I fall back into the couch. The man sits up as Tyler runs into the room. Tyler moves quickly to me.
"Are you okay, baby?" He asks. I have no time to think about his name calling and bite my lip in pain. Tyler grabs my leg carefully and examines it. He pulls a big piece of glass out of my foot and I cry out.
"James, hold her leg up, don't drop it." He says and leaves the room. I can feel the man, obviously named James, grab onto my leg softly and his breath feels warm over me. He looks up into my eyes, and I look back. He smiles slightly, and sits down on the floor so my leg is over his shoulder. He doesn't say a word, he is just staring at me. I stare back, not wanting to say anything.
Tyler is back in no time with a see through bottle of disinfectant. He takes my foot from James' shoulder and James moves next to me.
"Madi, please look at James and hold onto his hands, don't focus on me." Tyler says. I take a quick glance at my foot, and it's all bloody and swollen. I turn to James and grab onto his hands.
"Hi James." I say softly, trying to take my mind of the pain that I'm going to feel. He smiles and lets me hold onto his hands.
"Hi Madi, I'm Tyler's older brother." I nod, looking at him and try to think of something to say quickly.
"Why are you here?" Is all I can manage to say. He tilts his head a little, and his mouth opens. Then he frowns, closes his mouth and shakes his head.
"I just wanted to make sure my little brother was okay here." He lies to me. "You see," Before he can say more untruthful words I scream out and grab onto his hands really tightly. I start breathing heavily through my teeth as the pain continues, but James isn't helping. I quickly turn to Tyler, panic in my eyes. He quickly grabs onto my hands and begins talking to me.
"Madi, It will be over soon. And when it is over we can all watch some tv, or talk a little while, and then George will prepare a lovely dinner for us, which we will enjoy by the sunset." The pain starts to fade, and Tyler wipes my tears with his thumb.
A few hours later, James gets up. He leans over and kisses my cheek. I frown, not really understanding his action.
"Tyler, I want to leave tomorrow at noon, we need to discuss some things in private though," His eyes flash at me for a second. "So we'll see tomorrow morning, okay?" Tyler nods and gets up, giving him a man hug. He walks back into the house and heads towards his bedroom. I stare at my hands, and then look at Tyler.
"Madi, I'm sorry about this morning." He says. "Can I carry you to bed?" I nod, knowing I wouldn't be able to get there myself with this foot. He gets up and softly takes me up in his arms, as I wrap my arms around him. He walks me to the bedroom, and slams the door shut behind him. He locks it too and he can see the question in my eyes.
"Don't really trust James." He mumbles and carries on to the bed with me in his arms. He lays me down and climbs in bed next to me. I lay my head next to his and close my eyes. I can feel him coming closer and I move my chin towards him. His lips touch mine softly, and he kisses me. He pulls me in and kisses deeper. I don't object and kiss him back, holding onto him. He breaks off the kiss, his warm breath washing over me and he starts kissing down my neck. He kisses over my cleavage and down my stomach. Before he can go much further I stop him.
"You're going too fast." I whisper. I have so many mixed feelings for him and I need to be able to figure out which one is stronger. Although his lips to my body feel good, I can't go any further with him. At least not any time soon. He apologises but I stop him by kissing him.
It feels like we've been kissing for hours. He stops and pulls me in close. I close my eyes and take in his scent. I can still see the gun next to him, but I ignore it and look up at him for a second.
"May I undress you?" He asks. I'm not absolutely sure what he means by it, but my head nods before I can think about it. He pulls off my shirt slowly, kissing over my shoulder as he looks at my body. His fingers trace over my tummy and I shiver and feel how I want him. I decide to ignore it and he slowly takes off my skirt. After he's done admiring my body, he pulls me in by my stomach so I roll onto my side, away from him. I lay my head on the pillow and close my eyes, as I can feel him undressing next to me. He lays back down next to he and holds onto me tight.
"Sleep." He whispers.
As I wake up the next morning, I smile. I want to turn around and kiss Tyler. But when I open my eyes I realise he isn't there. Disappointment covers my face, but I decide to swallow it. I want to get out of bed but I know that I can't with my foot. I still decide to try it and lower myself onto the ground. I slowly drag myself across the floor towards the door. I stop in front of it. I can hear two voices.
"... I can do that, so you can be here in peace."
"Well what will you do to her?" It's Tyler.
"Probably just take her really far away."
"James, she might try to escape, she's just gotten used to me."
"If she does, I'll kill her." I close my eyes, rolling myself into a ball as fear takes over my whole body.
