Midoriya POV
I slowly went over to it. I forgot this was here.. I admired the gems inside the trident. I then slowly took it into my hands and the second I did that I felt a surge of power go through me and I saw like types of green electricity go around me.

I then heard a whisper, "Don't follow your command.." I think that whisper was only in my head and after I heard that the green looking electricity disappeared.

I stared down at the trident. My mom was a powerful mage... she told me it gets stronger by each generation it's passed down in.

I held onto it tight. No one knows how much potential I have now.

Todoroki POV
I slept on the beach next to Toya and Fuyumi. I stared down into the water since it was clear.

I saw some type of green electricity coming outside of the cave I last saw Midoriya? Wait- water and electricity is lethal- is Midoriya in trouble?!

Without a second thought I jumped into the water and began to swim down. Since I was panicking I was already losing my breath quickly so I already knew I couldn't be underwater for long.

I swam down and I peeked inside the cave. I saw Midoriya.. holding a type of trident? He was just staring at it.

At that moment I realized I needed to get back to the surface but I couldn't move- my leg was stuck on some type of seaweed or something- crap.. this isn't good.

It wasn't long before my vision went black and I couldn't feel anything.

Midoriya POV
I looked to the side and saw Todoroki.. his 'leg' was stuck on some seaweed. But should I help him?

But then I realized, humans can't breathe underwater and that Todoroki was unconscious!

I decided to test the trident and I got rid of the seaweed. I dug the trident into the sand so no one will find it and I put Todoroki in my arms and swam up to the surface and put him on the sand.

Was he breathing? I couldn't tell. I dragged myself onto the sand next to him. Jeez the sand was burning hot but that was the least of my worries right now.

Wait- why am I caring for a human? Agh I hate this feeling of pity! Why must I be so nice sometimes?

I got so caught up in my thoughts I didn't realize that he woke up and was staring at me.

I had an inner panic attack and I quickly threw myself (A/N: he said yeet) off the sand into the water. And right before I got underwater I heard him yell, "Wait!".

Todoroki POV
"Wait!" I tried to tell for him to stay but it was too late. He left again.

Wait- wasn't I underwater literally drowning? Did he- did Midoriya just save me..? I felt something in my hand so I opened it. It was an emerald.

It looked like something I saw Midoriya hold once... he did save me. I put the gem up to my chest and blessed myself for seeing a beautiful creature such as he.

On another note I also felt blessed that he saved me from drowning. I really hope I get to see him once again. And maybe, just maybe, we can actually have a proper conversation.

I smiled at the thought and laid back down. But then I heard Toya yelling my name once again. So I groaned and sat back up. "What now Toya?" I mumbled.

Toya ran up to me and Fuyumi followed. "You know the legend of mer-people?" Toya asked me. "Uh yeah? Why?" I replied. I think one of them is after your power.
