I looked up at the house. It was a peach cape cod, with a dark stained front porch. From what Angel said it had 4.5 acres. On the left side and up to the edge of the field in the back, were woods, lots and lots of woods. “Lucky us it’s still summer, those woods look like they could use some work.” says Matt, my brother. I look at the woods again, sure enough he was right. It looked like it would be a trip just to get past the first row of trees. There were mostly weeds and thorn bushes; you could barely make out the trees.
“Be careful you two, there’s a ton of poison ivy in there.” called my sister, Angel.
“Yeah”, Matt called back.
“Hey, we better finish unpacking if we want anything good for dinner” he says to me before he walks away. I smile, but it doesn’t reach my eyes. It seems that’s all we ever do: Pack, unpack, pack. It’s early June, in Hope, a small cozy town. This would be the 5th time we’ve moved in 6 months.
You’re probably wondering why we move so much. Well, like everyone else, the excuse is work, but before I tell you what we do for a living I should probably tell you about my family.
Well, we are a family of 4, my brother Matt and my sister Angel, you’ve already met them. Then there’s me and my sister Penny.
Matt is 28 years old, he has tousled, chin length, midnight black hair and under his dark thick brows rests his piercing, clover green eyes, outlined with chocolate brown, and brown pupils. He has a strong jaw and a crooked nose from where he broke it during “work” 3 years ago. He’s 6’7”, and ripped with muscles. He’s the kind of person you like right away, always laughing, funny and he makes people feel comfortable, even in the most uncomfortable situations. He has a Husky, named Amber; she is a copper husky with ice blue eyes.
Angel, on the other hand, would be the mother figure of the house. She’s 26, petite, serious, and looks completely like she belongs with models in Italy. She has chin length, choppy, auburn hair, and perfectly kept brows, with the most luring dark crystal blue eyes, outlined with pale green and pale green pupils that seem to hold you in place and makes it difficult to lie to her (well if you don’t have eyes like mine, then it makes it difficult). She is 5’ 7”and she is an incredible doctor, she can fix almost any wound, which for us, is a very good thing. She has a pet snow owl, named severon.
Now my little sister, Penny, and I are really close. She is 16, and the flower of the family. Her presence is so gentle; she can stop almost any fight by just passing by. She has shoulder length, wavy, penny colored hair with heart stopping pale green eyes, outlined with violet with violet pupils. She is 5’6” (for now, who knows when her next growth spurt will be) and an excellent cook, I say she’s the best. She is petite as well, and an excellent cross country runner. She has a pet Black fox, her name is Morgan.
As for me, well what can I say? I’m 17 turning 18 in 2 months. My name is Katielena; I have dark brown, wavy, hair that comes half way up my back. And everybody says my eyes are mysterious and the most beautiful thing they have ever seen. I think they’re unnerving, unbearable, confining, eyes that have seen more pain than any one person should see. They are brown with sliver outlining and silver pupils, and the pain of my past is visible even if though I try to hide it as best as I can. I am 5’ 8” strong built, and a very fast runner, long or short distance. I am the rebellious teen, I skateboard, snowboard, play guitar, and try to cause as much trouble as I can. I have two pets one is a cat with two fluffy tails, she is black, almost looks blue, with silver markings. Her name is Midnight. She is no bigger than a 6 month old kitten although she is 3 years old. My other pet is -- you’re not going to believe this -- a phoenix. A deep red with purple markings, we have to say she is a rare version of a red tail hawk. Her name is Amentha.
In truth none of our pets are what they seem, come to think of it neither are we. You see who we are, is one of the reasons we move so much.
