It's been a week since the discovery of Jason Blossom's body. But his death is not the first, nor would it be the last casualty that the town of Riverdale would suffer. The Twilight Drive-In where everyone goes to escape, a home away from home, a piece of town history, is closing for good, just when we needed a place to escape to the most. With Sheriff Keller knocking on every door and neighbor suspecting neighbor, Riverdale, every day that passes, is becoming more like Salem during the witch trials. And meanwhile, the girl who had fallen for her best friend, Archie Andrews but has just found out he was caught up in a forbidden romance. She was confused and felt alone. "Jug, I don't understand how you couldn't have told me after you know how I feel about him. I thought we were best friends,'' I said sitting on my bed as he sits in the chair in front of me. "He told me not to tell anyone but I don't think anything is going on with them now because maybe he's realised his feelings for you.", Jug said. "He kissed me. I kissed him. I thought... I almost lost Betty because of my stupid feelings. What if Betty never forgave me again and I lost her forever? I actually really like him Jug and the fact that I really thought he liked me too... all this time, he was just toying with my feelings and becoming a sex toy for some old lady!" I screamed at Jug as he looks guilty. "I'm so sorry. Let me make it up to you, I never meant to hurt my best friend and I'm sure Archie never meant too either. He really does care about you Lila, just talk to him please and then buy me a burger afterwards because I'm pretty hungry.", He said as we both headed to Pop's to meet up with the others. "The Drive-In closing is just one more nail in the coffin that is Riverdale No, forget Riverdale, in the coffin of the American dream.", Jughead said as he starts stuttering. I just wanted to eat ice cream, cry a little and watch twilight with Kevin again. "As the godfather of indie cinema, Quentin Tarantino, likes to say Please, God, no more Quentin Tarantino references." Kevin says drinking his milkshake. "What? I'm pissed. And not just about losing my job. The Twilight Drive-In should mean something to us. People should be trying to save it.". "In this age of Netflix and VOD, do people really want to watch a movie in a car? I mean, who even goes there?", Veronica says. "People who want to buy crack.", Kevin and I say at the same time. "And cinephiles, and car enthusiasts. Right, Bets?" he asked her but she was clearly zoned out as she was probably thinking about Archie and what he's been up to. "Totally.". "Anyway, it's closing because the town owns it, but didn't invest in it. So when an anonymous buyer made Mayor McCoy an offer, she couldn't refuse Anonymous buyer? What do they have to hide?". " No one cares." Kevin snaps and I massage his shoulders just trying to get him to relax. "I do! Also, you guys should all come to closing night. I'm thinking American Graffiti Or is that too obvious?" Jug asked. "I vote for anything starring Audrey Hepburn. Or Cate Blanchett.Or The Talented Mr.Ripley.". "Betty, your choices? Everything okay, B? Yeah, I'm just thinking. Um Maybe Rebel Without a Cause?" Betty said as we laugh as Hermione approrates us with our orders. "Here you go, kids.". "Thanks, Mom." Veronica says. "If I would have known Mama Lodge was working as a waitress at Pop's, I never would have given Veronica a spot on the Vixens. It's off-brand, and sends a false message about acceptance. After her TMZ-style take-down of Chuck, all the Vixens kind of like Veronica now." Cheryl says loud enough for everyone to hear. "Be sure to put all that cash in the register. You are a Lodge, after all, and Lodges are known to have sticky fingers.". "Cheryl -". "-Honey, I got this. Cheryl, I went to school with your mother. She didn't know the difference between having money and having class, either." Hermoine says as we see the look on Cheryl's face as we laugh then suddenly, I see Archie with his dad and her. I look at Jughead and he just shakes his head but he knows that wouldn't stop me. "I'll be right back." I say to everyone as  I go towards so I can confront him. "Hey, Mr.Andrews and  Ms.Grundy. Archie, can I talk to you?". "Sure. Can I call you later Lila?" He says, clearly wanting to just spend time with his cougar lover. "No. Actually, now! It is really important. Outside?" I say as we both head outside. "Is there something, anything you wanna tell me?" I said, hoping he'll tell me the truth. "I don't think so why?". "You told me you had felt it this summer didn't you? So I thought it was some random chick and it had to have clearly been over if you had been kissing me like that and making me feel so happy. I didn't even think you would Jughead of all people to not tell me this but I honestly thought you trusted me enough to tell me. Was the person Ms.Grundy?". Archie looks completely shocked but then just looks down at the ground. "Ms.Grundy was at Sweetwater River on July 4th. Were you with her? Please tell me that this hasn't still been going on?" I said with tears in my eyes. Archie comes closer but I stepped away from him. "I was with her but the day we went back to school, things between me and her were done. I didn't mean to hurt you. You know I care so much about you and I couldn't stop thinking about you after that kiss-". "-You could have told me Red how long have you know me? We have been friends since forever and yet you could tell Jughead but not me. I couldn't stop thinking about you either Archie but when I found out, I couldn't believe it." I said as I look away from him and see Veronica and Betty come out. I just walked away from him as he started calling out my name but I just couldn't listen to this crap anymore.
I get home to find my dad upset and looking at old photos of us as an actual family. "Dad? Is everything okay?" I asked him. "No. Not really my Lilac flower. You know your mother does love you, even though she doesn't always express it well. No matter what, she will always be your mum and we will always be a family who will stick by each other no matter what happens."  He then pulls me in for a hug and all I think was how did things get this bad? I just hugged him back, thinking they were probably going to get a divorce. "Dad what's going on? Where's mum?" I asked feeling anxious. "She hm... thinks that it would be a good idea to have some space for a little while. She's really busy at the moment and we think-". "-You mean she thinks. She's already gone without saying goodbye to me, her own daughter. Dad can't you stop her? Tell her-Beg her to come back so we can talk about this. Please?" I said as I started crying. He just shook his head and started crying with me. Then suddenly, there was a knock on the door and dad nodded for me to go answer it. I opened it to reveal someone I'm not really in the mood to talk to. "Archie, Jughead and Betty, what are you guys doing here?" I asked, wiping my tears. "We came to check up on you, what's going on?" Betty asked looking concerned. "My mum is gone, she's decided to pack up and leave. She wants to give my dad and I space because things aren't working out so she's decided to go and work and ignore this family like she always does." I said as I started crying and then they all hugged me. A few minutes later, we all stopped our group hug and just laughed a bit. "Thanks guys, I'm sorry I'm such a mess.". "Don't apologise okay, but at least you can join the club. The club of parents who have left." Jughead says and we laugh. "Do you guys maybe wanna sleep over like how we use to?" I asked. "Movies all night then burgers and milkshakes at pop's in the morning?" Jug asked. I nodded and they agreed. "Lila can we talk for a minute?" Archie asked grabbing my hand. Jughead and Betty headed to my room as we stood outside. "I wanted to say I'm sorry for hurting you, it was the worst thing I've ever done to you. The thing that happened this summer with me and her was done the minute you got back into town. I never ever want to hurt you Landon and I will do anything for you to accept my apology." Archie said holding my hands and looking me in the eyes. The moment was perfect and honestly, all I wanted was to just hug him and never let go. "Of course I'll forgive you Red if you be my date to that movie night at The Twilight Drive-in?" I asked and he nodded then pulled me in for a hug. "So who would've thought, Archie had a thing for older women huh?" I said as we both laughed and rested our heads on each other's. I feel like I'm back in that moment again, back to our first kiss. "Archie. Why were things done between you and her the minute I got back into town?". I asked. "Landon, that night you asked if anything was going on between Betty and me. I don't have feelings for her because I have always had feelings for you but I wasn't too sure until that kiss. Please tell me you feel the same way." He said cupping my cheeks which were giving me butterflies in my stomach. "Of course I do, I've been feeling this way about you since before I left for the summer Archie." I said as he pulled me and kissed me like that night all over again. "Wait, Betty. We can't exactly tell her, I don't want to upset her again." I said blushing like crazy. "So what you wanna be running around in secret? I didn't know you had a thing secret boyfriends." He chuckled. "Well we did share our first kiss in a closet. Just let me talk to Betty when the time is right but for now, yes we've got to be a secret. I know you can do that anyway, you've had plenty of practice." I said we laughed. "How long you gonna keep teasing me?" He said putting his arms around my waist. "I'll have to think about it Red. Now come on so we can go have some fun." I say dragging him back inside. "I'd have more fun with just me and you alone." He whispered in my ear as he headed upstairs to see Jughead and Betty laughing and getting too close. "What did we miss huh?" I said as they started blushing like crazy. "Nothing much we were... just talking about movies to watch come on." Betty said as we got comfortable and started watching the breakfast club.
