I walk in the cafe to see my dad talking to Jughead's dad FP and he smiles as he sees me. "Well look who it is. Lilac the mighty." He pulls me into a big hug as I haven't seen him in forever. "FP it's good to see you old man. Did the others tell you that saw me?". "Yeah eating too much popcorn and cotton candy, that hasn't changed." They laugh as I get ready for my shift and I text Jug letting him know his dad is here bullying me. My phone starts ringing. "Juggy save me from your old man, he is picking on me saying I have a cotton candy problem, which isn't true!". "Oh yeah sure and I've just left Betty's as the mission didn't go too well. We got busted by her mum and Polly didn't even know about Jason and she is pregnant like super alien pregnant.". "Oh my God I hope Betty is okay. Also, when are you going to kiss her?". After my shift, I head to practise to sing with my fellow pussycats and we sounded real good but I honestly wish I could sing with my Red. I was getting ready to some of my Kdramas when I saw my window open by itself. "I'm not ready to die!" I screamed but it was just Archie climbing through my window laughing. "Shut up! I watched some horrors last night so I'm a little jumpy. Why are you here?". "I came to apologise, I know I should've said no but I needed help and I wanted to ask you more than anything but I wanted to impress you at the same time. When we sang together, I've never felt that chemistry with anyone not even Val and all I could do was think of you and how much you mean to me. "Archie you don't need to impress me and there is no one I would rather sing with than you. You impress me everyday by really trying to make your dream a reality but you don't need a partner to sing with you. All you need is your strength because you are strong and really brave. You can do this and I believe in you so just hang onto your faith and ditch Valerie. As much as I wanna poke her with a stick, she belongs with the pussycats." Archie laughs pulling me into a cuddle and strokes my hair so I don't end up going to his house and dumping hot water on him like I did a long time ago.

Kevin screams as we all get ready to get on. "Sorry to hear that, but you know I filled your spot, Val." Josie says to Val. "Josie come on. You can't do what you do without her, she's a pussycat for life." I say as she reconsiders. "I suppose there's always room for one more kitty in my litter box.". Val and Josie hug and Val mouths thank you to me. You lucky I'm nice when I have plenty of food in my stomach. We're all on the stage singing together and we sound amazing. I look out to see my dad with Veronica and Archie's dad looking proud but then I also see a familiar face. Archie checking me out in my kitty costume. We finish and the crowd cheers giving us a standing ovation. "That was Josie and the Pussycats! Long tails and ears for hats." Kevin says to the crowd. "You guys did amazing out there!" Archie says as I run into his arms. "Thanks Red, you will too. I know you will." He pulls me into a long, mind-blowing kiss before they call out his name. He starts singing I'll try and honestly, I've never been so proud. He's actually doing it and he's smiling back at me. When he stops, there's a moment of silence... Before everyone is cheering for him and I can tell he feels a sense of relief. He walks up to me then dips me, giving me the best kiss ever. The type where you feel like you're in a movie and everything just slows down around you. All you can think about is that moment and nothing else matters.

Here's the thing about fear. It's always there. Fear of the unknown, fear of facing it alone Fear that those closest to you are the monsters.
