Red and I have been practising a song which he totally surprised me with but I forgot he has actually got alright music taste. "Shoot, I've totally gotta go get ready at Betty's!" I started getting my stuff ready and Red then pulled me into a hug. I kinda start to remember what happened with Thomas and that I do have to tell my boyfriend but...Maybe not now is the right time. "Red, there's something I gotta tell you but I don't want you to worry like crazy okay. I'll tell you after the dance okay Red?" I quickly kissed him on the cheek of that sexy face of his and I quickly ran to Betty's. "Did I beat Kevin?!" I screamed as I burst through her window and she jumped. "Lila! Jeez and yeah he just left. God you're crazy! Did you speak to Archie about...Yet?". I looked at Betty and I just shook my head and B just pulled me into a hug. How am I supposed to tell him? "I will tell him after the dance, can we not worry about it right now please?". "That's fine because I have something else for you to worry about. My mum has invited Jug and his dad for dinner out of nowhere and now I'm really scared she's going to try to pull something," Betty says while I do her makeup. "You have one cuckoo mama. She's probably saying this is all for a story but I think it's just to protect you, you really like Jug and I think she sees that. You're lucky B but we gotta keep an eye on your mum especially if she gets out those naked photos of you," I said laughing and B just goes bright red. "Oi! Those pictures are kinda cute." B mumbled. After a bit of time, Kev showed up to do our hair and we all tried on our outfits. Damn we look good as hell! Kev then walked us downstairs like the true gentleman he is and honestly, when I saw Archie look at me...He was speechless. He just stared at me like I was an angel, I really felt like one whenever he looked at me like that. Everything around just slows down and it's just me and him together at this moment. All I could do is stare into those eyes of his. "Lila, you look... Beautiful. I've never seen a Lilac so beautiful before," He pulled me in for a kiss which was one of the best kisses I've ever had. I could even feel flashing lights on us but it turned out to be Kev and B taking pictures of us and I could feel my face going redder than Archie's hair! "Leave my precious girlfriend alone," Archie then hugs me, trying to shield me but everyone just keeps going "Aww". It's just not working. Thank God Jug and his dad have showed up and we can finally have some food. I mean between you and me, it's not as perfect as my dad's but it's definitely better than my mum's. "So FP, Betty tells me that you're working for Fred Andrews now. How do you balance that with all of your other responsibilities?" B looks at me as she starts to get tense. "You mean like being a father?". "And being a part of the Southside community." Betty looked straight at her mum warning her to stop. "It's okay Alice, you can say "Southside Serpent,". I'm not ashamed. And it's not just me, there's a bunch of us working on Fred's site. So, if you don't mind me asking, I mean, I'm just curious, how did you make your living before that?". Alice was really trying to poke the bear and I think everyone was noticing. "I scraped by. Odd jobs.". "I know that you worked for the drive-in, Jughead, before it was closed. Did you find work there, too, FP?". Jug just started to look uncomfortable while FP just wasn't even fazed. "Mrs Cooper this pie is so nice but I really do think it's time for us to head to the dance," I said as I pulled Red and Kev up from their seats as this whole evening was already going south. "Yep she's right, can't be late!" B says as we all get ready to leave and she mouths thank you to me. FP took all of us there in his truck and Archie just carried me like a princess inside as it was raining and he didn't want me to ruin my dress. "Hey stay here with B, I'll be right back babe," Archie kisses my head then quickly walks off. Strange. I walked to B as she was waiting for Jug and Kev was inside making sure everything was okay. "Hey gorgeous," I said as we bumped hips. "Thanks L, you look beautiful. I wanted to thank you again, what my mum did was unreasonable. You've always got my back and that's why I love you so much. Ever since we were little kids, you always just did whatever you felt was right and that was always sticking up for people. The world needs more of that Lila," B then pulls me in for a hug and she kinda made me a bit teary. "Aww B, I love you too and I'm so lucky to have you forever and always.". Kev then called us over and he looked a little disturbed. "Hey guys I'm sorry but I just saw something that I have to tell you. I just saw Archie and Veronica whispering like crazy and they looked pretty close.". "Could you hear what they were whispering about?". "No not really but it just sounded private like they were up to something or..." Kev looked at me and I knew what he was thinking. "No. No Archie wouldn't do that to me Kev, why would you even think that?" I headed inside and I saw them talking and it looked really intense. I walked into the gym and everything was just filled with bright colours and it looked beautiful but why would Archie be keeping secrets from me? I was so distracted, I didn't even notice myself walk into Thomas but he caught me. I pushed him off and tried to walk away but he kept getting in my way. "Lila, you have to talk to me at some point please I just want to apologise.". "Yeah and I want you to get attacked by a lobster, I guess neither of us are getting what we want," I walked away and saw my dad hanging out with Fred, Mary and Hermione but I just headed backstage to get ready. After a few minutes, I was ready to open up the dance with a slowed down cover of take on me by A-ha then afterwards, I was meant to do a song with Archie if the dumb guy ever showed up. "Thank you Ladies and gentlemen who were able to come to this event. Friends, students and alumni. I hope you brought your dancing shoes. Please join me in welcoming to the stage Riverdale High's very own Lila Landons who will be joined by Archie Andrews after this song," Everyone was cheering as the curtains opened and stepped through with my guitar. I started to strum and play the tune. Honestly, I chose this song to play because of my dad, I remember my sister and I would dance around and then he started to play this song and he would dance with us. He would sing and hum this song for so long, it made him happy. I look at him as he mouths the words and he looks so happy. Everyone starts slow dancing and I see Archie mouthing sorry but I paid no attention to him.

After the song was over, Archie came on the stage and he looked really sorry but I'm not doing this when we are about to perform. We started playing the song We're the kids in America and everyone was dancing and having the time of their lives but after the song was over Betty pulled Veronica, Archie and I to the side. "So do you wanna tell Lila or should I?" B says looking at Archie. "Please don't be mad-". "-Mad at the fact that you guys are working with my mother behind my back! Veronica, how could you lie to me and Lila then bring Archie into this?". "Into what?" Jug said as he was standing behind us. "We went to your dad's trailer to... To search it, Jughead.". "Why would you guys do that?". "My mom put them up to it. She was convinced he was hiding something about Jason.". "We were wrong. All of us. We didn't find anything. And Jug, we were only doing it to prove that-". "-That my dad wasn't a murderer? - You went behind my back, Archie? Veronica, I thought I could trust you. How did you... When did you guys know to go to my dad's trailer? No... That's why your mom invited my dad and I to dinner? So these two could break into his trailer while she interrogated him?". "No, I didn't know what they were doing. But yes, that is why she invited you guys.". Jug looked at me. "Lila, you didn't know did you?" I just shook my head not being able to look at anyone. "To think I was gonna pass on moving to Toledo with my family for you," Betty pulled Jug to the side and I was left with these two liars. "Lila please look at me-". "-Don't. How could you not tell me? Instead, you keep secrets from me again Archie! And you, little miss Princess, you brought my boyfriend into the mess when you guys should've talked to Jug instead you betrayed him. I want nothing to do with you liars and to think, I was feeling horrible because Thomas tried to kiss me but I slapped him across the face! You two deserve each other," I ran off and everyone kept calling after me but I had to keep running... I just had to. I took off my shoes near Pop's and I just needed at least a milkshake and tissue to wipe off the raccoon eyes. I saw Betty and she just looked relieved to see me but a bit disappointed. She ran into my arms and gave me the biggest hug. "Lila! Don't ever do that again. You had me worried sick.". "Where's Jug?". B couldn't even look at me. "He left Lila... He just walked away from me thinking that everyone just lied to him. None of this would've happened if my mother kept her mouth quiet and Veronica should've stayed out of my business. You really haven't seen him?" I shook my head and I gave Betty a hug. Suddenly, I see Archie and of course he's with Veronica. They walked up to us and they tried to apologise. "Can you guys go away?" I said as B was too upset. "It's about Jughead. Kevin called me. And he said his dad found a gun, the gun that killed Jason, in a lockbox in FP's closet. But Betty, we searched FP's trailer. We looked through that closet. And there was no lockbox. Someone put it there after we left. He's being framed," We all looked at each other and all we could think about is one person. Jughead.
