The first thing that flashes in my mind is... Betty from that night. How she was a different person and how I looked in her eyes and all I could see what darkness... Pure darkness. I looked over at her as I was the only one on the table who knew what happened that night, I never really told Arch or Kev. Chuck looked at us but glanced at Betty as he walked over to Ethel. "Betty, don't. Just leave it," I whisper to her but she stands up anyway and walks over to them. I tried to stop her but she just went for it. "Why is Betty so upset?", Kev asked. "I can't really say Kev, it's not my place but if you want to know then go to Betty not me," I say, freaking out from remembering how Betty went dark. Reminded me of my sister and I can't let that happen again. "Red, what's up", I asked as Arch looked a little distracted. "My dad has gone to finalize the divorce papers and I just didn't think it would be so soon.". "Oh red, I'm so sorry. You know that they both love you and they don't want you to suffer," I pulled Archie in for a hug, and then Kevin just joined out of nowhere bloody weirdo... But I love that hot piece of ass. "I know they do and I know they've been separated for years, I just wish things could be different for all of us in the club of broken parents but I'm glad to have you guys.". We all watched Betty come back to the table and she just looked like she was in shock. "What happened B?", I asked as she just looked like she couldn't talk. "I don't care what's going on but I'm going to make sure my boyfriend has the best birthday of his life!" She says just looking at all us and Archie sighs in defeat. "Screw it, I'm in. Dad's gone away this weekend anyway and we could all have some fun for once," Kevin nods in agreement and everyone waits for my answer. "Come on L, it's not a real party without you," Betty pleads. "I guess I could come or whatever. I'll bring the cake," Defeated by these annoying people and their cute faces, I was squished by Kev and B while red is smiling over at me, mouthing 'Brown eyes' and making me blush.

Kev and I went to my dad's cafe after school to order the cake as we know that Jug's favorite cake in the whole wide world is the double chocolate fudge cake with oreo pieces on top but he only likes it if it's made by my dad. "So Kev, how's you and your boyfrienddd who you've spent every night with for the past two weeks," I asked as he starts blushing. "Things are getting quite heated and I think I really like him, Lila. He may look all confident and stuff but he actually has a brain and talks to me about stuff that no one has ever told me before," Kevin starts smiling to himself and it's crazy that I've never seen him this happy before, I like it. We walk into the store and I see Thomas beam up as he sees me walk in. Thomas... There's not a lot to say about him except he's really hot and smart but loves to get on my nerves. "Well looks here to steal more food and of course she brings her partner in crime with her," He starts pointing at me and Kevin but Kev definitely has a crush on this guy I mean, green eyes, dark hair with tanned skin and a jaw that could cut and muscles and abs for days. He's always wearing white shirts to show them off and that's why I don't bring Kevin here anymore, he's always drooling and that makes Thomas feel good about himself. "Shut up Thomas! Where's my dad?". Kev sat down to stare at him while I went behind the counter to talk to Thomas. "He went to have lunch with your friend's dad, why? You need more food to steal," I did a sarcastic laugh to get him to stop talking. "You mean her boyfriend's dad," Kevin mumbled while staring at Thomas. "Boyfriend? You and Archie? Since when?" Thomas just looked taken by surprise. "For a while Thomas, why do you care?". "I don't," He mumbled. "Okay well when you see my dad, tell him to give me a call because I wanted his help to make Jug his favorite cake but he's not here-". "-I can help you, if you want me to," Thomas says as he interrupts me. "Why would you want to help me?". "Because I'm nice to people.". "Yet you're not nice to me but now you suddenly are, let me guess you were kidnapped by aliens!" Kevin suddenly bursts out laughing and Thomas shakes his head. "See this is why I don't like being nice to you, you become even more annoying than usual!". "Must be someone's time of the month, I'm leaving," I grab Kev and we walk out as Thomas sighs in regret. "Lila, what was all of that about?". "I don't know but he's so beeping annoying! I hate him!". I don't know why Thomas always has to ruin my mood but I do that he wasn't too happy that I'm dating Archie because I think they just don't like each other. Ugh, men. In the end, I called my dad to make the cake for me in return for me picking up some shifts next week.

Everyone within our friend circle was here - the gang, Joaquin, and even Ethel but we were just sorting out last-minute touches as suddenly, we heard the door. "SURPRISE!" Everyone screamed as horror was written all over Jughead's face. "This is why we left the double feature," Jug says to Betty as she smiles and shrugs her shoulders. Archie and I pull Jug in for a hug and we say happy birthday. "You guys really shouldn't have.". Afterward, Veronica pulls Jug in for a hug to say happy birthday but they looked too comfortable as Betty went to go get the cake. Red pulls me to the side to talk to me. "What's going on Brown eyes? It feels like you've been avoiding me and I've missed you," Arch gives me the puppy dog eyes and I pull him in for a kiss. "I know but we can talk about it later, let's just some fun and have a good night baby," He nods and pulls me in for a hug as Betty walks in with the cake and we all start singing happy birthday. Jug blows the candles but then he doesn't look too happy as he comes towards Archie and me. "Guys really?". "It was Betty's idea, she just wanted to do something for you and no one listened to me!" I said as Jug is starting to look less and less happy each second. "Jug I thought you'd be happy," Betty stands behind Jughead as she heard everything. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions.". "Why is everything so doom and gloom with you, Jug? Why can't it just be normal for once?". "I'm not normal, I'm not wired to be normal.". "Yeah I can vouch for that," I said before the doorbell rings and loud music is playing. "How many more people did you invite to this thing?" Jug asks as we go to open the door. We open the door to reveal almost the entire school and the last three people I thought I would be seeing tonight. "Did you really think you could have a party without inviting moi?" Cheryl says stepping forward. "Or us?",Chuck and Thomas said. "Archie, where do you want the kegs?" Some guy says as we all look at Archie. "Screw it! One in the kitchen, one in the backyard," Everyone suddenly starts screaming and Jug walks away while Veronica and Cheryl, Betty and Chuck, and Thomas and I are in a staring battle. Let the games begin.
