Aurélien Cullen thrived on chaos. Maybe that's why fate presented him with a werewolf for a soul mate. After all, what's more chaotic than a love that goes against your very Biology?
"You have such a beautiful soul, Seth Clearwater."
Seth Clearwater...

The night was when Aurélien had always felt most alone. His family had their mates, and for the long time him and Edward had had no one. Even now, he was alone. Emmett was helping Rosalie work on a car in their extensive garage, Alice was adding the finishing touches to the wedding plans in the front room with Jasper sat dutifully beside her, and Esme and Carlisle were discussing Carlisle's worries over one of his patients in his office. Even Edward was with Bella at her house (completely breaking tradition considering there wedding was the day after tomorrow), but Aurélien was alone in his room reading.
Deciding that the treaty with the werewolves was too precious to risk, especially considering the consequences its collapse would have on their relationship, Aurélien had decided that he wouldn't do what Edward does with Bella and sneak into Seth's room every night. Still, he craved the presence of his mate beside him, especially in light of their recent disagreement.
Aurélien had yet to reach out to Seth. He had realised as he prepared to contact him after his conversation with Bree, that the boy would be busy with his family. So the argument would remain unresolved until morning.
The text alert echoing through his room took Aurélien by surprise. His family were all in the house and within hearing distance — for vampires at least — so it couldn't be them. And Aurélien wasn't friends with any humans, just supernatural creatures whom didn't really own phones, so it couldn't be them. The only person who could possibly be contacting him was Seth.
Mon Amour❤️: can you come over? I need to talk to you.
Mon Amour❤️: it's urgent.
Aurélien furrowed his brows as he read Seth's messages. Worry sat like a stone in his stomach; what could possibly be so urgent that Seth needed to speak to him at 11 o'clock at night? Had something happened?
Despite his reluctance to cross the treaty line, Aurélien did so anyway. Seth claimed it was urgent, and if his mate needed him then he'd always be there, no matter what.
Seth's window was slightly ajar, so Aurélien merengue leaped upwards, grabbing the windowsill and placing his feet flat on the side of the house. Barely any of his strength was required to force the window open more and clamber in gracefully. Glancing round the room, he found Seth seated on his bed looking nervous.
"Seth, what's—" Aurélien didn't get to finish as Seth suddenly flung himself forward and into his chest. Had the French vampire been human he would've toppled over onto the floor, but he remained steady, wrapping his arms instinctively around his mate's body.
"I'm sorry." Seth's words were muffled due to his face being pressed into Aurélien's shoulder, but the older boy heard him.
"Sorry? About what?"
"The disagreement we had. I didn't understand what you were saying before, but I talked to Leah and now I do."
"Leah? What did Leah say?" Aurélien asked, confused. He had talked to Leah only a few times in the span of his two month relationship with Seth, so he couldn't comprehend that she would have any kind of opinion on Aurélien outside of a blanket disliking his species.
