THE COP AND THE REDNECK (A Shane Walsh and Daryl Dixon love story)

Chapter 7

Sage's POV

After we drive for a few more hours we finally agree to stop and clear out a house. "Daryl, Shane, T-dog come with me to clear out the house." Rick says loading his gun up.

"I'm comin to." I say walking towards Rick.

"If Sage is going in so am I." Kiera says standing next to me.

"No y'all ain't." Daryl and Shane say at the same time.

"You two are not the boss of us we ca-" I started but got interrupted by Rick.

"If they want to go in let them they know how to take care of themselves." Rick says. They nod their heads get in front of Kiera and I. Rick bust open the door and shoots the first walker in the head and T-dog gets the second one taken care of.

We split up to check out the rest of the house and of course Shane goes with Kiera and Daryl comes with me. Daryl and I go down one of the halls to clear it and Daryl gets in front of me with the flashlight to see if there are any walkers in the room. We move out of that room and go to the next one which happened to be the kitchen. We find Shane and Kiera in that room to. "Shane look out!" I yelled warning him because there was a walker coming. He turned around and stabbed it in the head with the knife he had.

"Thanks." He said.

"No problem." I reply. After the all house has been cleared Kiera and I go outside to tell the whole group that they can come in.

As we walk back into the house we see Daryl holding a dead owl and pulling its feathers out. "Here's dinner tonight." He says. Glenn and Maggie pick up one of the dead walkers and move it outside so that we wouldn't have to look at it. Beth, Carol, and a very pregnant Lori brings all the bags into the house so we could start figuring out where everybody's belongings are. As Daryl and I move upstairs to find our room I realize something.

"Daryl!" I scream and he looks at me worried.

"What's wrong?" he asks.

"It's Kiera's birthday and I didn't remember until now ! I am a horrible sister!" I say sitting down on the floor.

"No your not you have been under a lot of stress and its just slipped your mind." Daryl says pulling me up and wrapping me in his arms.

"I wonder if Shane even remembered cause I know she told him." I ask.

"Probably not he ain't the brightest person you know?" Daryl smirks.

"Shut up he makes her happy and that is all that matters. I am going to find him and ask him." I say. I give Daryl a kiss on the cheek then go down stairs to go find Shane.

Shane's POV

I was down stairs with Kiera and the rest of the group when Sage came down and told me to meet her outside now. "What did you do now?" Kiera asks looking at me.

"To be honest I don't know." I say getting up and following Sage out the door.

"What did I do now?" I ask her .

"Do you know what today is?" She asks me.

"Ain't it like Saturday or something?" I reply.

"No you idiot ! It's Kiera's birthday !" She screams at me.

I run my fingers through my hair and say "Oh crap! I totally forgot." to her.

"Don't feel bad I did do to." She says.
