Chapter One: Noise

Man, what have I become?  I honestly can never seem to make things right.  First I'm this way and then I'm that.  Don't get me wrong I like how I am now, more than I how I used to be.  But I still mess up.  I'm not good to be around.  I try not to talk or cause any harm but people deceive.

I can't stand up for myself or all they say is, oh look the old Lily is back!  I don't want to be like that anymore!  They won't understand when I say I've changed.  Yeah, sure yesterday's me is still me, I'm not gonna deny that.  I sighed heavily, why am I even writing this down in my journal? I inhale and exhale deeply and look around to my surroundings. I don't really know why but everyday I always come here, like some type of urge?

It's a beautiful forest, trees that are tall and hide those that want to be hidden. A river that flows and heals those that want to be healed. Grass that is partly green and still lively even though it's August. I Huff in happily, I guess that's why I come here everyday, it's peaceful. I slowly sit up from the tree I was leaning against. I start walking through the forest and notice how it's getting dark out. I came here after my part time job right?

It shouldn't be that dark out already it's like 6 pm but it looks about 9 pm. Wasn't it sunny out just a couple of minutes ago? I just brush off my thoughts and start to speed walk to my house. It's getting breezy out. Dang, why didn't I bring a jacket? I heard a noise in the distance to interrupt my thoughts, a howl? Oh no, don't tell me there's wolves in this forest.

I pick up my pace to get back home. I hear what sounds like trotting feet. Are they near? I start running. The footsteps seem to be getting louder. I turn my back to see a ginormous shadow hovering over me. It definitely was not a human. I started sprinting extremely fast.

My house could be seen, just a few more steps and I'd be out of the forest.  I was panting heavily.  Right as I think I'm getting close my foot got tugged.  I quickly glance behind me and see my shoelace got stuck on a thorn bush.  I bend down quickly trying to unravel it until I hear the noise again.  It's extremely close, the howl.  My shoelace got free and I stand up ready to turn around to bolt to my house.

That's when I see it.  The moonlight reflexes on its fur.  It's a white wolf standing up proud and strong.  My heart rate was increasing, breathing uneven.  How can a wolf be that big?!  I turn around and dash home quicker than ever.  When I finally stand in front of my house I rummage for my keys in my pockets.

When I found it I hastily opened the door and slammed it shut.  I breath in a sigh of relief.  I make my way up the stairs and into my room.  Throwing myself down onto the bed.  Can't wait to add this in my journal.  I chuckle at my own sarcasm.  It's still kind of unrealistic that if I didn't run as fast as I did today I may have been eaten by wolves.

I snickered, man I really am a weirdo.  I literally almost died today.  I just brushed off all of those thoughts and drifted into dreamland.
