She made a life
In her head
A fantasy
That never had  an end

You'd see her walking
A smile on her face
Although the world was grey
She was in her happy place

At night however
the light would change
Reality dawned on her
And cast darkness into her little world

She would lay on her floor
Dead to the world
Her mind claimed her heart
And her imagination churned

In the arms of her teddy
She would cry
Hug it a little harder
Wishing she was in his arms

She knew it was futile
She drove him away
Her persistence resisted
Those who did sway

She was just a coin
In a billionaire's hand
Cast aside
From the folds of pretty, coloured paper

She was not one in a billion
Nor was she the first
Just another stranger, a human
Being was her curse

He didn't want her
Her friends didn't help
Forcing her to ignore
And move on

She wasn't ready
to leave her world
She needed proof
Even if it was clear inside of her eyes

They didn't believe he was her soulmate
They didn't believe that she loved him
They thought of it as a crush
Because they thought they knew

What was inside her head.
They loved talking about themselves
Thinking they interested her
Their boring mundane lives

She didn't care anymore
Not about her "friends"
They were no longer trusting
No longer understanding

She was alone now
Alone in her imagination
She hopes for the day to come
When he would finally care

Like she did
She hoped when the time came
That she could love him
Like no one else

but she lost him
