Chapter 34- Too Far

[Y/n]'s bare feet stung against the cold, hard ground of the Finalizer, as she ran desperately from the General's quarters and towards her own. Her bare skin froze in the cool, controlled breeze coming through the air vents in the open corridor— and her eyes were sore from all the tears streaming down her face.
Every so often, a stormtrooper would see her dashing by, and raise a blaster or communicator, shouting, "Captain, we have a 27B-4, I repeat, code 27B-4!"
But [y/n] just kept running— she couldn't stop. Besides, it wasn't as if she hadn't already broken about a million rules— caught up with two of the First Order's highest ranking officers, caught in a complicated and beyond unprofessional romantic affair involving both of them. If Phasma didn't know about this yet, she would sooner or later— so it didn't really matter to [y/n] how many troopers caught a glimpse of her bare ass— she had already lost the last of her dignity. So she bolted down the halls and prayed to the Force that somehow, someway, she wouldn't be executed foe it all.
Eventually, [y/n] made it to her quarters, jabbed her passcode into the keypad, and stumbled inside as the automatic door slammed behind her. And, as luck would have it, who else but the wonderful Officer Dara Darley was sitting of the bottom bunk.
"[Y/n] are you okay?" Darley asked, "What happe-"
"It's none of your business Darley," [y/n] snapped, "and I don't see why it should be. Now will you shut up and just...let my fucking life end peacefully?"
"Whoa, whoa, [y/n] calm down-"
There was a look of genuine surprise on Darley's face.
"Calm down? You want me to calm down? Everything I care about is over and there's nothing I can do about it! Shut up! I'm worthless and stupid and fucking pathetic and-"
"I didn't think he mattered to you that much...what happened?"
There was a silence while [y/n] took Darley in.
"You didn't think who mattered to me, Darley?"
"Uh I mean she...I didn't think Elsie-"
"No, you just said 'he'..."
Another beat of silence.
"Well you said you hooked up with he-"
"Holy shit." [y/n's] teary eyes widened, "You fucking set this up."
Darley stiffened.
"I don't— what do you m- mean?"
"Don't play dumb, you bitch! You set this up. You fucked shit around to ruin the only good relationship I've ever had so that you could feel like you had control because I didn't tell you about him. You set this up. Holy shit!"
"I didn't! Hux-I wouldn't-"
"It wouldn't be hard- oh my goodness Darley you jealous fuck. You are so selfish oh my god. Kriff. You wanted to fuck me over! You nerfherding motherfucker!"
"I... didn't know if he was loyal. It was just test—"
"Don't bullishit me, Darley. Everything I care about is gone because of you! I ran half naked in a red thong through the ship and it was your fault. I mean look at me! I ran through the hallways dressed like this!!! The love of my life is cheating, and it's because of your setup! I have nothing! You took fucking everything from me!"
At this point tears were welling so fast, [y/n] could barely see anything anymore— but Darley's jittering presence was still palpable.
            "[Y/n] I didn't mean to... I swear I—"
"Shut the fuck up, Darley. Just...just shut the fuck up."
Mascara ran down [y/n]'s face as she tried to fix her tousled hair- to no avail. Eventually she gave up and, over the red lingerie, began to put on her black regulation uniform.
"You know [y/n]," said Darley curtly, "It really fucking blows to know your best friend doesn't trust you. Lies to you. Is going behind your back— making up blatant lies, even, to protect her affair. If I hadn't done any very purposeful detective work, I would've probably gone on believing that you'd made out with Elsie at the Cyclic Pass party. Forever. I would've been made an idiot. But at least now I know. The truth."
[Y/n] let out a frustrated scream.
"Kriff, Darley! Not everything's about you. Some things are personal— like my personal life? I don't need encouragement or advice from people to do well in romantic pursuits, and I don't want to. But you never knew what I wanted because you don't fucking know me. But that doesn't matter now, because now I guess I'm just a dumb whore."
"You could've just told me you'd kissed Hux. That's literally all you had to do!"
"Maybe! But then why did you feel the need to send Kylo in the fuck shit up? I don't believe you, Darley!" [y/n] was starting to shake, "I don't fucking believe you. You just wanted to see me fall, and you won't admit it. You went too far—so fuck you."
"I did what I thought would wor-"
"Nope! Shut up—I'm sending in a request to get you moved to another housing chamber. We won't be roommates anymore- if I even survive what's coming to me."
Darley's face sank.
"[Y/n] no, come on! We can work this out! We can-"
[Y/n] frowned.
"No. Your eviction starts now," she said, before pushing Darley out the quarter door, "Now get blasted."
Darley opened her mouth to speak once again, but [y/n] couldn't hear her through the airlock door.
And even if she could have, she wouldn'tve been listening.
