3 weeks later.

"Shut up! I did not do that. That's not how it went." I laugh. "It is exactly how it happened." Austin defends himself. I cross my arms. We both look at Lorenzo who's just blankly staring at our 'fight'. "Well, Lorenzo. Who do you think is right?" Austin asks, still laughing. "Uhh..." "Have you been paying attention at all the last ten minutes?" I ask laughing. "No, sorry." He laughs awkward. "Can you explain it again?" Austin sighs and explains it all again.

"Alright, so, Sybil and I went to the McDonalds yesterday." Yesterday was Sunday and Austin came by to ask me if I wanted to go somewhere. And no, it wasn't a date.

"And I ordered the usual." "So everything on the menu, I get it. Continue." Lorenzo grins.

"And she ordered fries, a shake and chicken nuggets. 6 nuggets to be exact." "But I got 5 nuggets." I tell Lorenzo. "She went mad." Austin laughs. "Ouch." I slapped him on the shoulder. "I tell you, that's not how it went. Like at all." I wave it away.

"I just went up there and asked if I could get another one since I paid for one more." I explain. "Sounds normal to me." Lorenzo answers. "See! Told you." I yell at Austin. "Calm down and listen to me if you want to know the real truth." Austin takes his time to continue. "She went up there and asked for another nugget-" "-Like I just explained." Austin shoots a glare at me which I ignore. "And they asked her if she had her receipt. Which she didn't. The woman told her that she couldn't help her since she didn't have a receipt and that's when she went nuts." I cross my arms and impatiently listen to the rest of his story.

"She started yelling stuff like: 'I'm never coming here again.' 'What is this for place.' 'Just give me my stupid chicken nugget.'" My cheeks redden as he continues. "And then the security came to get her. Yes, indeed, she got kicked out of the McDonalds." Lorenzo tries to hold back his laugh but fails to, Austin joins him. And in the end, so do I.

"Okay, so maybe, maybe, I went too far." "Wait, you seriously got kicked out of the McDonalds?" Lorenzo asks dumbfounded. I nod ashamed of myself. "I have been, indeed." "Tell him what happened after that." "Jeez, is this lunch break not over yet?" I sigh. "Fine. They also told me that icdiulbt cwme brck." I murmur. Austin puts his hand behind his ear and says, "Sorry, I didn't catch that." I hear Lorenzo laugh and I repeat myself, but now clearly.

"They told me that I couldn't come back." Lorenzo bursts out of laughing and all the other students look at us as if we are aliens. "You've got... a... restraining order?" Lorenzo asks between laughs. "Yes." I whisper.

"For how long?" "Indefinitely." I think Lorenzo almost pees himself at this moment. He literally wipes away a tear from all the laughing. A tear.

"Okay, stop. It's seriously not that funny you guys." "Alright, Sybil. We'll stop. So, how's the case going?" Austin asks. A few days after the interview with Maggie I told them everything about Jackson and the case. Of course I didn't tell how the murderer might have followed me to LCBS. Jeez, I didn't need them to be scared to death. I told them globally how everything had been ever since that night. They were really supporting and I really trust them. I didn't tell Lorenzo that his sister cheated on Jackson.

I shrug. "There haven't been any upda-" I get interrupted by the bell and stand up. "What do you guys have? Wait, don't we have Maths right now Austin?" "Yes. We do. And you Lorenzo?" "Oh, I need to go the other way. See you later." "Bye." Austin and I start exiting the cafeteria until he pulls me back towards a water fountain.

"Hey." "Hey." I laugh. "I don't know how to do this, since I wanted to do this for a long time now. And, we had such a blast last night, don't you think?" Wait... "Yes, I think so too." I frown at him. He sighs. "Sybil, will you go out with me? And this time as a real date, no McDonalds." I laugh about the ending of his sentence. "You're real cute when you're nervous." "Is that a yes?" I can spot the hopefulness in his eyes and try to play him for a while, but my heart can't handle it. "It's definitely a yes." I smile. He smiles back and it takes a moment before we realize we have a class to go to.

We run through the school, both laughing and out of breathe. "You better hope we're not too late." I yell at him. "It's just Mr. Wellson, we'll be fine. Trust me." We turn a corner and arrive in front of the right classroom. We take a second to get back to our breath. "Well, I've had my exercise for the rest of the year." I say, placing my hand on my stomach. "You do know we have gymnastics after this huh?" "Shut up." I laugh. "Come on. Let's face our consequences for being late." He winks. My cheeks blush, despite my efforts. He laughs, pushes back a strand of hair behind my ear and opens the door.

*

I open the door to find Austin standing there with a bouquet of red roses in his hand. Smiling, I take the bouquet in my hand. "Could you be any more cheesy? Seriously, red roses?" I laugh. He blushes and my hand touches his warm cheek. "They're lovely." A smile rests on my face. "I was just messing with you. Very thoughtful." Over the last few weeks, my relation with Austin has been escalated. We had many classes together, sat together during lunch breaks and we helped each other with homework. Plus the McDonalds incident, of course.

"I'll just put them in a glass of water and then we can go." I take a water bottle out of the mini fridge I bought a while ago and fill the empty glass on my desk. A hand takes gently place on the small of my back and I turn around to face Austin. "Let's go." He takes the bottle, closes it and places it back in the fridge. He takes my hand and, after I locked the door, we leave.

"So, what are the plans tonight? What have you planned for this special evening?" He sways his arm around my shoulders and I already know that this night is going to be perfect. The fact that Austin and I started out as friends makes it so much easier to have our first date. We already know what the other likes and what not. Besides, we feel comfortable around each other.

"Just wait and see." He winks.
