Chapter 23 - Feet Up

[STRONG LANGUAGE!!!]

[Y/N's] POV -

'Hey, How come you've still got Rathian Armour? Haven't you fought anything stronger?' I asked Ant.

By this point we were heading up to the last area that is below the vale.

The Girros we saw earlier had moved so we were at a walking pace because of the lack of Danger.

'I've been wanting to swap for a while...I'm saving up enough Zenny to build a new set.' Ant responded.

'Like, you have the materials?' I asked.

'Yep....it's a bigger monster to say the least.'

'Ummmm....Azure Rathalos?'

'Nope.'

'We're gonna be here a while if you don't tell me.'

'Wind.'

'Ummm....'

'Elder.'

'Oh! Kushala!'

'Yeah, it took a while to get enough materials, but I spent all my Zenny, so I'm saving again.' Ant said.

By now, we had passed where the Great Girros was, and were on the ramp up to the top of the Vale.

'Nice, that's a decent upgrade.' I said.

Anthony looked at me and nodded.

We had just reached the top of the Vale....finally.

There were no large monsters anywhere, just some Hornetaurs and a pack of Gajalakas, who weren't interested in us.

Me and Ant both picked up the pace and started to jog towards the Southern camp.

We had made it to the last stretch, where the Radobaan rolls down.

As we stepped onto the pathway, there was a distant roar that came from behind us.

Me and Ant both spun around to see what it was.

We saw the tail of an old friend, quite clearly.

It was a Deviljho...again.

'Great...I heard about your last mission with that thing.' Ant said.

'Yeah, I'm not dealing with him again. He's probably eating anyway....fat bastard.' I replied, turning back around.

Ant snickered and followed on.

It wasn't a great end to the mission, with seeing that Deviljho and completely skipping our main goal...but we're back...and I'm on holiday.

We made the short journey up the slope to the vines.

Anthony quickly climbed the first portion of them, allowing me to follow on.

After a few seconds of grunting and climbing, we were both up.

'Let's go enjoy our time off!' Ant said.

'Yeah...aslong as no one finds out about the-' I whispered.

'Listen. No one. Will. Know.' Ant said a bit aggressively.

I recoiled and gave him a strange look...I'm not happy with how he's just reacted....and it's not the first time today.

'S-Sorry....I can get like that...I've got some anger issues to say the least.' Ant said.

Well that explains it.

'No problem...let's go.'

We both walked around the corner to see the research team sat around the table, playing with a deck of cards.
