Chapter 26 - Record Setter

[Y/N's] POV -

We had reached the bottom of the hill now, and since we were not in any danger, I said to Rachel,

'Do you want to talk now? We're not near anything.'

'Umm, If that's okay? She said.

'Em? Can you give us a few minutes?' I said to Emily.

'Yeah sure, we'll wait by the tree down there.' She said, pointing to the base of a tree.

As she walked past, I put my hand out infront of her.

I quickly pulled her towards me, holding her head with my hand.

She returned the hug and smiled.

I leant into her head,

'I'll be as quick as I can.' I whispered, Before planting a kiss on her head.

She pulled away and smiled at me, with rosy checks.

'Come on [P/N!]' she said.

[P/N] ran over to Em and the two walked away from me and Rachel.

'You two have something really special...'

'Thanks, she means everything to me. Anyway, what's up?'

'I wanted to tell you what happened between me and Anthony....no doubt he's told you his side.'

'He hasn't told me much, just that you guys didn't work out as a couple.'

'Yeah....we we're fine but after his Palico...passed...we grew apart and he only wanted to be back with Odin. He loved that Palico which I guess is fair enough...but he stopped loving me.'

She had started to tear up but wasn't crying, with water welling in her eyes.

'You okay?'

'Yeah....we split up after a while...I don't want to get back with him...but I'm scared he's going to go too far.' She said.

'So, it's worse than I thought. I'll do my best to help. Me and Emily will.' I said

'Thank you [Y/N]'

I winked at her and walked over to Emily and [P/N] with Rachel close behind.

'We're all set.'

She smiled at me with [P/N] jumping up and shaking his head.

'Did you fall asleep...again.' I questioned, looking at [P/N]

I didn't get a response as [P/N] ran off ahead of us.

I shook my head and walked on.

Emily was walking next to me, with Rachel just behind.

We were walking down the right path that headed towards the centre area of the tree.

Most Anjanath's claim this as their home when they arrive here, I'm not sure why.

We soon got to the end of the tunnel and we're faced with a few different ways to go.

We could go up to the Anja resting area, down to the giant Vigorwasp or left down the tree face.

'So, where are we-

I was abruptly cut off by a rustling coming from the section to the right.

Suddenly, there was a high pitched screech, making us all cover our ears.

When we all regained our senses, we looked around frantically for the source.

It hadn't revealed itself yet.
