lauren was up almost all night, shaken up by what had happened with nick. "you okay?" austin asked. "yeah, i'm good." the boys were sound checking for their second show, which was in portland. "hey, lauren you should dance!" edwin said.
"dance is old ne-" "nope, you're a good dancer c'mon baby." brandon said, twirling her around. "press play!" lauren said.
made me by tyga and bazzi started playing, lauren immediately started to move. in perfect sync with the music, it all looked and felt right. the boys cheered her on and everything just felt like old times again. "for the dance break, lauren should join in." zion suggested. the boys agreed as lauren blushed, agreeing as well..
lauren couldn't stop thinking about what had happened with nick, it was making her start to overthink and regret. max was almost done with his set and the fans were ready for prettymuch to come out.
lauren was on the couch in the venue, thinking a lot. "hey beautiful." brandon said, kissing her cheek. "oh, hi." she said softly, wrapping her arms around brandon. "you okay? you seem distant." "stage fright." she fake chuckled to hide her lie. "oh c'mon yesterday, you seemed so good with the crowd. i can't wait to sing whatever the crowd pics." he kissed the top of her head.
"you should be warming up." "you should too, come with me?" brandon got up, holding his hand out. lauren took brandon's hand and followed him backstage, where the rest of the boys were. nick locked eyes with lauren whilst warming up, though he was also thinking about what happened last night. it was almost time for them to go on, lauren followed them to their opening positions. wishing all of them good luck, then running off stage.
standing in the right wing again, lauren watched the boys perform. just waiting for her cue, this one different than the la show. "yall said dance?" zion hyped up the crowd. "give it to them!" edwin said and they all shrieked. brandon went first and lauren walked onto the stage joining the others, brandon moved around the stage earning screams and cheers then grabbing lauren's hand.
the two switched and soon lauren was taking the stage, earning louder cheers and screams. the song started to skip and mess up lauren, weight in gold starting to come up. nick and the other boys looked just as confused as lauren, nick appeared beside her and they run the duet.
out of all the dances lauren's done before this one was her favorite, not because of nick. it was because it was she got to do a lot more in this dance than other dances she's done. the two ended face to face, inches apart, breathing heavily. lauren pulled away and joining the group of boys, "who put that song in the mix?" brandon whispered in her ear. "honestly, i don't know. i was just as surprised as you."
